This review is in regards to service, more than the food quality...
Went here with some friends today. Two of us are on a low carb diet, and they offer burrito bowls without the tortilla, so we ordered those but without beans or rice and add lettuce. Simple enough, right? It's not like I asked for a Kosher meal LOL.
First we got the bowls with rice and returned them. No big deal, so I thought. They now tried saying they couldn't make them the way we wanted. I explained how simple it would be, and then with a snotty attitude she finally agreed to attempt it.
After waiting another 10 minutes I see two bowls on the counter, so I go up to the counter to get our corrected order. Nope, it's the same bowls with rice still sitting there. I returned another 10 minutes later and get nothing but attitude from the girl at the counter. It's not like I was mean or anything. I worked in restaurants growing up, so I know the drill.
Total wait time was 30 minutes, which is long but forgivable, but the attitude doesn't fly with me. Even a simple apology would have been nice.
Anyway, bottom line; the employees need training, better attitudes, and this location needs an...
Read moreOrdered a shrimp cocktail and The girl running the register and taking the orders goes over to the side of the front counter and puts on gloves and proceeds to make the shrimp cocktail. I'm watching her make it and its almost complete. She stops, takes off her gloves, picks up a paper towel and begins to BLOW HER NOSE. SHE DOES NOT WASH HER HANDS OR PUT ON NEW GLOVES!! Instead she picks up a DIRTY knife and does not properly wash it, instead she grabs another paper towel and wipes it down. Then she picks up the avocado to start slicing it into my shrimp cocktail!! I have never been so disgusted!! I stopped her right there and told her just give me my money back. She was rude about it and only gave me a PARTIAL refund. I told her i wanted a manager as I was not accepting a partial refund. She said there is no manager and she finally gave me my full refund! ( I have two printed out refund receipts). I called the Costa Mesa Store asking for a phone number to a manger and they would not give me a phone number either. So I filed a complaint today with the Health Department. Read moreThe food tasted good, but for my visit the service was not what was expected. My neighbors went for the lunch special about about an hour and a half before, when they came home they were raving about how great Marilyn treated them and how the food was presented. My boyfriend, my neighbor, and myself went back for round 2, to have dinner just before 6 tonight. Selina was not very welcoming and had difficulty replicating the previous simple order, even though we showed her the receipt from earlier. The food we received was not close to the same food they had just two hours previously, as well as the beverages. We intended on eating on the outside patio (which was not closed and had many available seats) yet she made our food to-go. By the time we got home (15 minute walk) it was almost cold and had much less per taco than when ordered earlier. I'll definitely come back to give it another chance, hopefully when it's Marilyn's shift, but will eat elsewhere if Selina is behind...
