I wanted to try this place out because I love trying new restaurants, especially new food but when I have so many options in Orange County, it’s hard to stay away from the comfort and the favorites. This keeps coming up because of the good reviews across-the-board so I finally decided to stop by when I wasn’t hungry just to get dessert which they were out of which is the sweet potato (I’ll be back). Anyway, this is over by Slater and beach across from the Nissan and across from the Salvation Army. If you don’t know where that is, it’s by the donut shop that everybody goes to. Donuttery. So when you get here, they have a couple different options. You can do Egyptian, American or Mexican style. but honestly, why would you not try what they’re known for the Egyptian pie. And I love pizzas. It wasn’t that hungry so this was really good because it wasn’t as heavy. It’s being thin bread wise but it’s hearty. I went with the pastrami that was the second recommendation for the Egyptian pies. I didn’t feel like trying the traditional ones I don’t really want sausage. I wanted to really give the pastrami a chance even though I’m really picky with pastrami and I don’t like a lot of places, but let’s try this homemade pastrami. It’s gonna be a little while if you’re doing dine in but trust me it’s worth the wait. They bring it out to you and fresh flaky around the corners. I think those were my favorite part crispy corners with all the fillings. I really do not know what to expect but it’s exceeded my expectations. I thought it was just going to be mid. I don’t rate a lot of places five out of five, but due to cleanliness, Customer Service, taste, hours, quality ingredients & flavor… five stars across-the-board. They were so kind and offered me a free drink, even though I took the cup and just had water. The only thing is it will take a while because they’re making it fresh depending what you order so be patient. I can’t wait to come back here to try something else and...

Read moreI heard about this restaurant online and decided to try it out. In spite of the fact that I was in hospitality management for over 47 years, l'd never experienced Egyptian cuisine. The location seemed to be a revision of a former Pizza Hut building, and its bright orange color scheme makes it easy to see. The interior is a clean, sharp, and simple "walk-up" ordering with plenty of tables for dining in. A very pleasant and helpful young lady named Nancy greeted me and expertly guided me in my selections - thank you! I ordered a small Egyptian Savory stuffed "pizza" 1/2 homemade Egyptian pastrami and 1/2 homemade Egyptian sausage. For lack of a better description, the "pizza" resembles a large spanakopitia. A dough similar to Phyllo or Filo that is "stuffed" with the desired ingredients. It was served with two dipping sauces; a sweet spicy sauce and a garlic parmesan sauce. EVERYTHING was very tasty!!! While this "small" pizza could feed two, I singlehandedly devoured it all myself. I accompanied the meal with a lemon mint soda. Finally, for dessert, yes, I forced myself, I had the sweet potato topped with vanilla ice cream and drizzled with caramel. YUMMY!! If you like your grandma's holiday sweet potatoes topped with toasted marshmallows, you'll LOVE this!!! My entire meal came in at just under $40 with tip included, but keep in mind that it could have easily satisfied TWO diners!!! I was very pleased with my first foray into the cuisine and I recommend you...
