I just read another review that said "very low quality meat". Hi! I'm from Maui. I've eaten at L&L more times than I can count (or care to admit), "Low Quality Meat" could be on the sign just under the L&L!! But if that's why you eat here, you're missing the point!!) L&L is an institution! They were the very first to take our mid-day meal, known as the Plate Lunch, and translate it into Haole (white people speak). In Hawaii, it's what All local people eat for lunch. The "entree of the day" served with 2 scoop steam rice, and 1 scoop mac salad. That is what Mainlanders now call "Hawaiian BBQ". L&L (I think) invented the term. In Hawaii the restaurants are called L&L Drive-In. Anyways, it's not about the quality of the meat. This meal was born in feeding the workers in the Pineapple & Sugar Cane fields. Not Filet Mignon, but the familiar tastes and smells of a culture that is rapidly losing our old culture. I LOVE eating at NICE restaurants, with good Steaks, or Chops. That's NEVER why you'll find me @ L&L. It's Homecoming... Come try it,...
Read moreI'm from Hawaii and I'm pretty picky when it comes to my Hawaiian food ... you wouldn't expect much from L&L since it's a chain but this particular location won me over. The service was average, nothing exceptional, but the food was fantastic. Whoever the cooks have been, each time I've been, have done a stellar job with mimicing how real Hawaiian food tastes. I was especially blown away by their spam musubi ... they actually marinate and sear the spam!!! What?! That's how it's supposed to be made, yet 98% of Hawaiian place (this is all speculation based off personal experience) don't marinate or sear the spam. Their macaroni salad is also spot on with how they make it on the island. I'm impressed by THIS location only ... I've been to other L&L's and they're not as good ... so make note of this when you visit a location other...

I just can't belive she was rude and was in such hurry to leave right at 9pm I'm sorry but you have lost me. I won't be...
