Que Vida Tacos Huntington Beach — Restaurant in Huntington Beach

Came here with a group of eight. Food was delicious and the staff amazing. My wife and I ordered the birria tacos, a fish taco and a shrimp taco. The seafood tacos are loaded with topping that can get a little messy but it’s worth it. The birria tacos were loaded with meat and they are a real winner. We also ordered the empanadas and queso fundido, my picture of the empanadas only shows one, you get three but some people couldn’t wait. My wife got a spicy margarita which she loved. Finally we got the churros which everyone loved, we ended ordering more to take home. The service was incredible, everybody helped out, and there was a constant flow of food coming from the kitchen. They also kept our drinks full and answered any questions we had. My own criticism is the way in which you order. You can order at the counter and sit down or you can sit down and scan the QR code at the table. I don’t mind ordering this way, but we were unaware that all the food you order comes out as it is prepared. If you plan to order from the QR code, order your drinks and appetizers first, keep the tab open, and then when your apps get to the table, order your food and keep the tab open and finally order your dessert. We received our appetizers and next came the churros, followed by our our entrées. Some people ate their churros before their dinner, but I waited so...

I'd been craving Mexican food and this meal had me pumping my fist in the air and blowing chef's kisses. The steak and shrimp fajitas were amazing and came with a generous layer of cheesy vegetables as a base. I'm obsessed with how they cut the shrimp so it's curly (not sure how else to describe it and I ate it before considering taking a photo). It came with a side of guac, limes, and corn tortillas.

The birria tacos were impressively packed with meat and had a nice layer of melted cheese on top. I appreciated that the shells stayed together (rather than falling apart like at some other restaurants). They were tasty and also came with lime wedges and dipping sauce (I like to drench mine so next time, I'd ask for extra).

Bonus points that the meal was this good even as take-out. I think Que Vida just took over as my favorite spot for Mexican. I'd have a hard time not ordering the fajitas and birria tacos again, but their salads and burritos sound really good too! I'll be back and will be...

Que Vida blew away my expectations! Not only is the food absolutely incredible, but the friendly staff make the entire experience unforgettable. I had the fish taco, shrimp taco, and shared the birria plate. My family travels to Mexico at least twice a year and we have tacos at least once a week and these are by far the best tacos I’ve ever had. The fish and shrimp tacos were both lightly battered and didn’t taste greasy like most fish taco places. The birria had the perfect amount of cinnamon and the consommé was so good I think at one point I tried to drink it straight from the bowl. I ordered the spicy margarita and found out they only use fresh lime juice for their margaritas and it was so good I ordered a second. We finished off the meal with the churros and the caramel dipping sauce was amazing. The best part of the entire meal? THE PRICE.
