Awful "veal" dishes - salty shoe leather.

Imagine ordering "Bistecca Alla Palermitana". It's a simple dish - thin veal, breaded, lightly salted and flash fried in olive oil until barely done, topped with a little garlic, basil and tomatoes. Delicious, if cooked with just a little care.

It comes and the plate is sparsely covered with a few pieces of sliced carrot, 2 broccoli flowers and the "veal" which is maybe 1/8" thick breaded. Yup, there's more food in a quarter pounder.

You take your first bite and OMG it's sooo over-cooked and salty. Was the cook drunk and mistook this for a 1.25" New York steak that needed to be well done? Unlikely since there's zero filets on the menu. Veal's tender right? You're pretty sure it's not even veal, but it's impossible to tell.

This is three times now, so it's hard to believe it's an accident. Yea, we don't eat a Mangia Mangia that often and usually get seafood. And we were with friends or I would have sent it back.

Love the seafood pasta and garlic bread. The Frutti Di Mare and Rigattoni Alla Siciliana are favorites.

But stay away from the "Veal" dishes. The Bistecca Alla Palermitana in...

The place is small and cozy. I was greated with a warm smile. Right away was seated and offered drinks by my server, Lucy. The wine list looked delicious but I drove there and that means no alcohol for me. My companions chose not to drink but we had coffee. YUUUMMMMY! The coffe was amazing... it had a true roasted taste yet was not overbearing.... 🤤 The food I ordered and the ones my family ordered all had a super comfort homemade food flavor... Even my child said it was delicious AND ate a WHOLE meal; she has only finished a whole adult meal when eating out 1 or 2 times in her life. Everyone ate everything. It was awesome. The dessert was scrumptious... the best tiramisu yet. 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤

** Forgot to mentioned I tried this place because an traveler working here for Disneyland was the one that mentioned this place as true Italian. He was here for 3 weeks and still had 2 months before going back to Italy. So, this was his to go place when in need of good Italian taste. I am not Italian but boy when it is homemade you can taste...

Mangia Mangia has been one of our go-to spots for years, and it’s never let us down. We've been here many times and not once have we had a dish that missed the mark. The food is consistently excellent — especially the seafood, which is always fresh and cooked just right.

Service is always solid. The staff is friendly and attentive, making sure everything runs smoothly without feeling intrusive. The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, perfect whether you're with family, on a date, or out with friends.

The unlimited garlic bread deserves its own mention — warm, fresh, and way too easy to eat a lot of. It’s hard not to fill up on it before the main course.

Portions are generous, so you definitely get your money’s worth, and the pricing is more than fair for what you’re getting.

Another plus: parking is never a hassle since there's a private lot in the plaza. It’s convenient and makes the whole experience that much easier.

Mangia Mangia is a true local gem — low-key, reliable, and always satisfying....

Italian food heaven! Honestly everything here is delicious. The exterior restaurant is very unassuming so I was pleasantly shocked by how good their food is. After sitting down for less than 10 minutes, the staff brought out their signature garlic bread (hot, soft and garlicky) and its free! The portion is huge and the price is decent. I ordered the fritti de mare (seafood pasta) and meat Ravioli and made a request to change the creme sauce into meat sauce and they were more than happy to do it! The waiter(s) are so honest, they are kind enough to inform you of any extra charges that might be accrued if you add something to your dish or not, unlike other restaurants, who informs you when the bill arrives. When both dishes finally arrived at my table, not only did it looked great but it tasted amazing! This restaurant is a good reminder that good food does not have to cost an arm and a leg.

Best Italian Restaurant Ever! I am always conflicted about ordering the Seabass Portifino or the Gorgonzola Ravioli, so I get both! Plus, a great house salad and seriously, the greatest (and highly addictive) garlic bread. A glass of Chianti. Tiramisu and a cannoli to share with friends. Friend got Spaghetti Carbonara, which made me angry because it was soooo good and now I have more difficult decisions to make here. Salmon is great, too. This is paradise. Great service. Nice atmosphere. Can't say enough good things about this place. Love, love, love coming here!

Prepare to wait around 20 to 25 minutes of wait if you are dining in on a Friday night. This restaurant is a local favorite in Huntington Beach. We didn't have any reservation so when we walked in around 6: 30 we just have to wait 25 minutes. The host and server were courteous and prompt. Food tasted okay. My husband liked the complimentary garlic bread. Spaghetti bolognese was good but the calamari fritti was a bit chewy. Overall it's a homey restaurant and our stomach were full of good food.
