Farmer Boys — Restaurant in Huntington Beach

I had a very unpleasant experience at this location on Sunday. We ordered over 50$ worth of food and chose to eat inside of the restaurant. Among our order was the sourdough chicken avocado and as we were eating we found paper inside of our sandwich so we took it back up to the counter to get it fixed. We were told that we would be able to speak with the manger, get a refund and receive a new sandwich. When the manager arrived at our table she didn’t apologize or say anything, all she did was rudely throw the the money on the table and leave.We then proceeded to wait over 30 minutes for the new sandwich that never came. We asked twice if it was being made and each time we were told that it was almost finished. Finally we asked to speak to the manager again and she was extremely rude, still not apologizing or even attempting to fix the situation. We then asked for her name and the number to corporate only for her to give us the name of the cashier, who was the only one that was actually competent in the whole establishment, and then proceeded to give us the number to corporate as well.Then we finally go back to our table to find ants crawling around through our plates.This whole experience has been unpleasant, unprofessional, and extremely unacceptable. Second visit to Farmer Boys and have left unimpressed with their sandwiches. First time, the burger was lukewarm at best, second time, the chicken was served with a lukewarm temperature. - what seems to be a consistent feature at Farmer Boys.

The temperature of the charbroiled chicken sandwich was unable to melt the slice of cheese placed directly on the meat.

The chicken breast itself required a lot of extra effort to tear into - the texture was tough and chewy.

The fries served were hot and Krispy, hence the 3-star review, instead of a one-star review for the sandwich alone.

Whatever their meat cooking/storage practices, it needs to be improved dramatically. Their beef patties/chicken breasts taste steamed instead of grilled/charbroiled.

I believe that they are cooking the meat well-in-advance and placing it in steamers. The patty/chicken breast acquires a steamed taste/texture on the outside but does not get heated enough throughout to retain that "fresh off the grill/broiler taste and temperature.

10-15 years ago, this place was top notch. Other than the zucchini, today, there's not really a good reason to eat here. I went to try a new burger, the BBQ crunch cheeseburger. Drive thru took 35 minutes at 940pm. I asked the cashier who blamed door dash pickups for the delay. Anyone who has been to FB's knows it's 10-15 minutes usually but 35 minutes was ridiculous. I ordered no pickles on the burger and the cashier repeated it back to me twice and it was on the receipt. Of course the burger had pickles on it. They also didn't include napkins. I guess 35 minutes isn't enough time to get an order prepared correctly or to find some dang napkins! Unless I'm really hard up for that zucchini, I'll take my money elsewhere and you should too. Burger quality has drastically declined while prices have only increased.
