Pulled up at 6:35pm on a Wednesday , man walks out with pizza. I walk in and the wonderful smell of cooked pizza invigorates my senses and enhances my taste buds. I then notice I’m not greeted, only stared at, so I ask if they’re open and if I’m allowed to walk in and order pizza, the girl replied ‘yes’. She then walks to the back kitchen area and has a conversation with a older gentleman, they both turn and look at me strangely. They made it clear the conversation was about me. The girl then returned to the front and proceeds to tell me they cannot serve me pizza because they don’t have any food, thinking it was joke I laughed out loud, but her facial expression didn’t change. I inquired if she was serious, she then changed her story and told me there is no cook so they can’t make any pizza. In the back area there is the older gentlemen and a much younger guy working and the smell of cooking pizza is in the air. I ask the girl why she would discriminate against me and refuse to make me a pizza when clearly food is being cooked. In her own special way (heavy accent, broken English) she told me, she is not discriminating against me but I can come back tomorrow and try again. Once back in the car I realized I was wearing an old Army PT shirt that has the word ‘Army’ on the front. This is just a guess, but maybe these people are against the American Military and our soldiers. I hope this young girl and the older man who so openly flaunted their prejudices are happy about...

I've been going to Nonna Lucci's ever since I moved to HB, and I'm thrilled to see the new management is bringing the heat! This place has been a staple in Huntington Beach for years, and for good reason - their pizza is still the best in town.
If you're gluten-free or just looking for a healthier option, you'll love their cauliflower crust (yes, it's a thing and it's amazing!). And don't even get me started on the half and half option - it's like getting two pizzas in one! Genius, people. Ohh and the best part - their real Wisconsin cheese!!!
The new management has brought some exciting changes, but they're still keeping the classic flavors and love that made Nonna's a favorite in the first place. So, go ahead and try it out. Your taste buds (and your gluten-free friends) will thank you.
Pro tip: Order the half and half and get ready for a flavor explosion!
Thanks, Nonna's, for still being the best after all...
Read moreI really debated about posting a review because I don't like to speak badly about a business' food, but we had to throw away all of our order in the garbage because the food was terrible (no joke). For $50, we expected better. Pros: website is easy to navigate, delivery person was friendly Cons: food was really bad. We ordered wings, pasta salad, pizza, and ravioli. -The pasta salad was drenched in italian dressing, but the noodles were so bloated that it was inedible. It was as if the salad had been sitting for a few days. -As one of the other reviewers mentioned, the pizza sauce had no flavor and the pizza crust was tough to chew. -the ravioli meat sauce had no flavor as well. we were able to eat a few of the chicken wings, so that was a plus. I am hoping that maybe they will change their recipes so that the quality of food can...
