Rubio's Coastal Grill — Restaurant in Huntington Beach

Yikes. This BURNT salmon salad my husband just brought home is scary bad. I’m not sure if the reason it was burnt was to mask the fact that the fish tastes like it’s turning, or if frozen salmon sticks just burn fast when you drop them in fryer grease that hasn’t been changed in a month. Either way, the protein in this salad is inedible.

Now, if it were JUST this one occasion that I’d had a bad experience, I probably wouldn’t be writing such a review. I usually only rate places based on the excellent experience I had so as to help steer people towards “the goods.” I usually leave the bads well enough alone. But the chips lately have been so rancid tasting - I truly am concerned they’re not changing the oil frequently enough or the quality of the oil is poor. Also, I picked up a family meal from this location maybe about 3 weeks ago and it was just all so under salted, and again, burnt. The chicken was dry and burnt. And the black beans had been over cooked and were mushy. We didn’t even save the leftovers. That’s a rarity in this household!

Please do better. There’s too many Mexican food places to choose from, and this kind of performance is going to keep turning people away.

I do like your quick and friendly service and your uber clean establishment. So keep that up. I’ll just settle for sticking to the original fish tacos...

I was picking up an online order & was greeted by the manager - he looked really sharp & professional. Right away he checked on my order & even though I arrived early. It was ready within the next three minutes. * it wasn’t due to be ready for another 6 mins. The manager was moving really quick and looked to be very efficient. The store was immaculately clean, and there was an ease to the flow at each area of the restaurant - Salsa bar soft drink area and the dining area was spotless. Without me asking, he offered me a drink carrier, which was really helpful as I was picking up a meal for 2 by myself. The other folks coming in and out while I was still in my car before I came in, and while I was inside, the restaurant seemed very pleased with their experience also. My dad and I enjoyed our Baja fish tacos and steak tacos and what a deal for taco Tuesday $2.50 on the Baja tacos and $3 for the steak tacos (each) Great Value! Food was spot on delicious and still warm once I got home 17 minutes later.

I really wish your Seal Beach location was still open. It was handier for us to go there to that location. But I’m thankful for the Goldenwest Huntington Beach location This is my first time trying it out and I’m very pleased. I’ll be back highly recommend this Rubio’s to...

Literally just a week and a half ago I went to Rubio's for the 1st time in like 10 years and ordered their chicken enchiladas. I could not believe how much more delicious they were than any other establishemnts' enchiladas I've ever eaten in my entire life of ordering food, so I returned now to order them again, but stupid management decided to DISCONTINUE them!

I ended up ordering a similar menu item, which didn't taste anywhere as good, and experienced a mean intestinal cramp like I haven't felt before 5 minutes after I left. Those 2 incidents together deserve my phone call to get my money back, which will be the first time for me to waste my time doing over food, to hopefully get management to focus on their customers instead of their bottom line.
