Went there for lunch…heard it was really good so hoping it was going to be one of my new “go to” places since it was close to home. Once we were seated the Manager came over and asked if we could move because a large group of like 20 was coming in…which was fine. Our waitress asked about our drinks and if we wanted an appetizer and we did and was ready to order at the same time. So, our order was in way before the large group was even completely seated. We watched as a couple and family of 4 were seated after us. We got our appetizer (fried mushrooms they were good)…but after about 30 minutes noticed that the couple after us and family of 4 was getting their food. (We had the same waitress). She said, “sorry I’m checking in your order”…it was just wings and fries and a salad. She came back and said they were really busy it would just be a few more minutes. 20 minutes later she goes and checks on our food again…by this time the couple that came in after we’re done eating and walking out while the family of 4 just finished their food. We see the waitress talking to the Manager…then comes back and apologizes and offers to get us ice cream while we wait??? We asked to speak to the Manager. She came over and proceeded to tell us how we came in after the large party and we’ll “just have to wait…there’s nothing I can do about it”. We explained to her that we were there before the large party, before the other two tables who already ate and left, and we reminded her we were the ones she moved to allow the party to sit together. And then she tried to blame the waitress and said, “Well, some waitresses are more assertive than others..their waitress must have pushed their order through.” We told her it was the same waitress. She then put her hands up and said, “there’s nothing I can do…I’ll check on your food.” We told her don’t bother we won’t be back…and got up and walked out. We were there an hour and a half total.
I’ve never seen a worse restaurant manager…watching her handle the host who looked like he was 14 and lost, her trying to lie that we came in after the others, to her trying to blame the waitress…it was disgusting. I’ve owned a restaurant before and I would have walked back to the kitchen and told them to put together that order NOW! She was totally incompetent. We won’t ever go there again. If I was the owner I would be totally embarrassed by the service. We eat out a lot…and I was truly looking forward to trying everything on the menu…but, I don’t care how good your food is…if your service is bad…I’m...
Read moreFinally gave Jefferson's a try with the crew! It was a positive experience and we all agreed we'd return in the future.
Jefferson's is a small, I'd say regional chain that seems to have a tendency to pop up in areas without a ton of dining options; there are locations in places such as Winchester, TN and Scottsboro, AL. Given this pattern, it's a logical addition to Hampton Cove, which has historically had a huge dearth of restaurants despite the population density and relative affluence of the area.
We (me, hubs, sis-in-law, and her husband) came for lunch on a hot Saturday afternoon about two weeks ago. There were a few other people eating in at the time but they weren't crazy busy. We were seated quickly by our waitress, Shawna, who was great!
They have a fairly large menu with a lot of American bar food favorites. Lots of appetizers (buffalo chicken dip, fried mushrooms and pickles, etc). For main entrees, they have wings, burgers, chicken, and somewhat weirdly...oysters? Not going there personally but it is an option!
The atmosphere is basic sports bar, but it's clean and airy. There's a lot of seating and they seem to do a brisk carryout business too!
BIL had apparently been craving a root beer float and was surprised to see it offered here as a summertime special. He and SIL both got one and declared it very tasty!
We also got an appetizer of pretzel bites for everyone to share. The bites were incredibly hot and fresh, and served with beer cheese and "sassy sauce" that was a little like a sweeter honey mustard. We enjoyed them!
Everyone except for me had wings (2 bone-in, 1 boneless order) and fries or tater tots. Resoundingly happy all around! My husband did wish he could split the flavors on his wings, but you have to get a really large order (I wanna say like 12+??) to do that, so he settled on one flavor.
I had chicken tenders and fries and also enjoyed them! The tenders were very large and quite meaty. The breading could've used a tiny bit more salt or seasoning, but they went well dipped in the creamy ranch.
Shawna was a highlight of our experience; without asking, she brought BIL more root beer for his float when he quickly drained the liquid part of it, allowed us to keep the queso and sassy sauce from the appetizer to dip our entree fries in, and was very prompt and patient getting extra sauces and refills as needed. Shout out to Shawna!
Will definitely return to try more appetizers or get some yummy bar food or watch a game. Thanks for a positive...
Read moreFirst time at Jefferson's, definitely won't be the last. Staff was very friendly . We had one draft beer, water, appetizer of jalapeños cheese bites & two dinners one the avocado bacon burger & wings & fries. We spent $65. Wings flavor was the hot mango habanero flavor. The burger was good, just way too much guacamole. Way too much & I adore guacamole. So I only ate half, It wasn't good as leftovers. I wasn't sure about the beans looking at them, but when I tasted them, I ate them so fast! Very good! The Caesar side salad I got didn't look too tasty either but was also better than it looked. The wings & fries my husband got were good to him, I thought they were just ok. And now on to the appetizer I saved the best for last!!! The jalapeño bites were so good I'm drooling just thinking of them!! When I saw them, just like the food following I was unsure. They looked kinda burnt. I thought ugh they are gonna be so hard & yuck. BUT NO! They were the best I ever had!! They were so thin crispy & soft! The sauce that came with, which the server didn't know what it was made out of but she called it the jalapeño dip, was so good I was licking my fingers & the dish!!! I'm not a sauce or dipping person much so let me tell you! I will come back JUST for those jalapeño bites & sauce! I would tell everyone to at least get...
