I normally eat here a couple times a week as I work for Walmart. Normally I am greeted with a warm hello by a young woman (white lady slender in shape soft voice) we hadn’t met prior to me coming here for lunch but she was always kind.
Back ground about me: I don’t eat any meat so I normally get extra vegetables and it’s usually not an issue. I get the same sandwich each visit as subway doesn’t have many options.
Today I visited and the manager (dark olive skin short and heavier set) didn’t greet me, time and body language tells a story on its own, she asked what i wanted I told her Italian sub half w only vegetables and cheese. She begins preparing the sandwich and I ask her for double extra tomatoes (again this happens a couple times a week no issue) she tells me I can’t get that I told her she can just charge me extra for the tomatoes( I didn’t inform her I get this each and every time I come as to not continue to stir the pot) she tells me she will charge me for extra cheese, I told her that’s not a charge for tomatoes though. She throws the tomatoes back into the the tomato container and rudely tells me “well you can’t get it then” I asked for a manger she said I am, then I asked for her boss as everyone has someone they report to she told me she didn’t have a number but she could take my information down so I agreed.
I walk off to sit at one of the tables as I’m on my lunch. I hear her in the back telling the story to fit her narrative. Talking to one of the owners in a tone that I did not have with her but that she in fact had with me.the store isn’t that big but she was loud enough that I heard each and every word she uttered on the phone. I walked towards the back of the store and there she was on the phone with the managers/owners when she told me she had no number.
My issue with this experience is the lack of customer service and where is this in the policy, given they don’t even have a system to charge me for double extra tomatoes? Would it have hurt you to just prepare the sandwich ( a half of a sandwich at that) it’s interesting to note how quick she jumped to call them to fluff up her story though she was rude and there was no reason to throw the items off the sandwich the way she did and not provide me with a reason on why or where in the subway policy does it state this can’t happen. It’s really sad that this was the manager when the other young lady I deal with on a daily basis seems to have better customer service and better judgement in this phase of their lives.
I hope everyone else has a better experience than I did and I hope that they give the manager customer service and conflict resolution training
UPDATE: the owner called me and it’s evident that customer service is not at the forefront of this business model. He explained to me the adding an extra charge of cheese when you get any extra veggies is a general charge. And he stated that he will talk to the manager about her attitude. I asked him since I had poor customer service can he have the young lady make my sandwich the way I normally get it without any extra charges and moving forward I will be aware of the alleged models that subway has in place. He responded with I don’t understand… I repeated he said well we charge for extra. I informed him I understand and I did leave a review and I will be coming back to update it. It is evident why that young lady thought it was okay to behave that way. I hope they all get a refresher on customer service. I will be contacting subway directly

The owner a woman different from who I spoke to followed a Walmart associate out of the store because she took 4 napkins. And told her she can’t just come and take napkins “we...
Read moreI ordered 2 footlongs. I'm feeding my family of 4. I had a handful of coupons that would get us free chips, soda, and one of my footlongs for free. When I went to use my coupons the employee told me that they don't accept coupons here. I said okay and finished paying for my order. I planned to spend some money of food, that's fine, but I ended up paying more than double than what I expected to spend. The employee was really nice, but kinda slow (I think he was new no judgement tho) I'm really happy with my service, but what kind of subway franchise doesn't...
Read moreI’ve been coming here for years and even worked here at some point. I asked the guy for more olives and he said he couldn’t do more (it was a handful at most). I’ve ordered this for years no issues and even made it when I worked there but he said he’d have to “charge me extra”. I’d understand if loaded it up but all I had was lettuce pickles and mayonnaise. I’m paying like fourteen bucks for sandwich. If I want some extra olives I should be able to get them. First poor experience in a while....
