You know that feeling when you're driving through what feels like the middle of nowhere and you stumble upon something so good it feels like a mirage? That's Dixie Pizza Wagon for me. Tucked on the side of the road in Hurricane, UT, this little pizza paradise is a true find. Who would've ever thought some of the most incredible wood-fired pizza I've ever had would be found on a wagon in Southern Utah? It’s the kind of place that makes a road trip worth it. The moment you walk up, you can tell this isn't your average pizza joint. The staff is genuinely friendly and passionate about what they do. They're happy to chat and make recommendations, and their positive energy is contagious. You can see them preparing the pizzas with what are clearly the freshest ingredients. The vibrant colors of the vegetables and the quality of the meats are a testament to their commitment to making a top-notch pie. While everything I've tried has been fantastic, the one I keep coming back for is the Chicken Bacon Ranch. It's an absolute game-changer. The crust has that perfect wood-fired char and chew, the ranch isn't overpowering, and the chicken and bacon are cooked to perfection. It's a flavor explosion that is a must-try for any first-timer. But honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. If you're anywhere near Hurricane, do yourself a huge favor and stop at Dixie Pizza Wagon. It's a culinary experience you won't soon forget!

We almost didn't come here because I wasn't very excited about the menu. Then I read the rave Yelp reviews and decided my first impression was wrong. My husband and I shared: - Italian Cowboy - Chicken Bacon Ranch The pizzas are pretty big and we probably could have shared one. At $10 per pizza it's pretty hard to beat the price considering the size. I usually pay more for pizzas smaller than this. They were both fantastic. I loved that the crust was a little doughy. I had a slight preference for the Italian Cowboy. They were pretty similar though, so I wish we had gone with one of them that was more different. I highly recommend calling ahead to order. We were there mid afternoon on a Friday and were told it would be a 45 minute wait. It ended up being 60 minutes. Luckily our hotel was close by and we just went back there to wait. I highly recommend stopping here for some delicious pizza.

Having moved here from the West Coast we have been pizza deprived. We were regulars at an amazing Brooklyn style pizza place. We have tried all the top rated pizzas in Southern Utah and they are either over priced and not good enough. We were losing our faith in ever finding good pizza. After closing my eyes and taking a bite of the Pizza Wagons Margherita pizza I was transported to Italy. So while some of you may already know this as a stop to/from Zion's in Hurricane that is across the road from the DQ and a block up from the Coral Cliffs Cinema -- it's much more than that. They are the only pizza must have in Southern Utah. If you don't care about the taste of your pizza and want cheap pizza go to Costco. The Pizza Wagon pizzas are ten times better and less money than Costco. In summary, the Pizza Wagon dough and toppings make for the best pizza in Southern Utah.

Have been wanting to stop at this food truck like wood fired pizza oven for several years, but timing has just never worked out until now. Buddy and I stopped for a late lunch after a mesa mountain bike ride, so both had good appetites built up. For about nine bucks you get what would be a standard large size pizza at most places, so price is not extreme. The wood fired crust is great, nice and crispy on the outside yet tender on the inside. Lots of variety of "standard" house pies, but you could mix and match sauces and ingredients to make whatever you might want. We got the Italian Cowboy and Chicken Bacon Ranch pizzas and both ate and had about a full pizza worth left for the drive. Both great flavors, generous ingredients and an overall nice experience since it was a cool but sunny day to relax on the tables/benches there and enjoy some slices. Would highly recommend with one caveat... One of the reasons it had taken so long to get here is that I am often in the area with my Celiac positive wife, and everything I had read indicated that they were unable to accommodate gluten free dietary needs. While eating I took the opportunity to chat with the person there and in charge that day. She confirmed that they had once tried to offer a gluten free crust option, but with all pizzas being prepared in the same limited space, and cooked in the same small wood oven, I can see how that could be problematic. So, if you need gluten free, this is not the place for you, unfortunately, but understandably. Giving four stars for taste on...

First visit a month ago: I gave 5 stars at the time but have changed that rating. Delicious! Perfect crust and you can design your own or pick from one of the selections on the menu. Loved the wood fired flavor. Even have a desert pizza with Nutella, raspberries and icing. Yum!

Update: The second visit last week was quite a disappointment. Walked up and noticed that different persons were working. The young man was standing next to the place where you place orders and when we walked up he immediately walked away without even saying hello or any type of recognition. He had his back to us and went over to the young lady who was taking dough out of a plastic bin and they continued talking to each other laughing. We waited about five minutes and then the young lady came over and said "did you call in your order?" I said no is that what we have to do? She replied "It's better if you do. It will be at least a half hour before we can even get to you." We said thank you and walked away and went somewhere else to have dinner. She didn't care at all. In fact it felt like she wanted us to go. Customer Service is important and there was NONE. I hope the owners realize that service like this eliminates customers. We won't be back and I felt I needed to let others know. Too many other pizza options and are better than to go somewhere...
