Update:
This place is not worth your money. We decided to give them another chance. Ordered take out. Vincent tried to charge us $61. Our total was $34. He told us to come back in 20 minutes. We came back in 20 minutes and he hadn’t even submitted our order yet. So we waited. He had a really hard time understanding that we wanted black beans instead of meat in a dish. So guess what happened next... our order was messed up. And it wasn’t even the dish I mentioned.
There were other people who were having the same problems and they actually left without their orders or paying. We should have given up, too!
I’m not sure how changing locations could have screwed up your business so badly, but please don’t bother with this place unless you like to be overcharged, A LOT of waiting, and wrong orders.
Oh how I miss the old location! We often stopped at Lupitas on our way through town - even sometimes drove out of our way from St George.
On this trip we decided to do take out - from the new location. They promised us about 20 minutes. The hostess and girl who took our order seemed new, untrained, and unfamiliar with the menu. We love their empanadas. Asked how many came in an order and she answered “as many as you’d like!” We know that can’t be true. We ordered 2 spinach, and 3 chicken. How we ended up with 5 chicken and 1 spinach I do not know.
Food was okay but what happened to the beef flautas? Bean burritos with the meals? Wet bean burritos? We also ordered a bean chimichanga only to find out when we came to collect our take out that they won’t make one. Why not? Also, had to wait for them to give us the (wrong) empanadas. Took way longer than 20 minutes.
I’d skip Lupitas until they get their stuff together. We’ll find a new...
Read moreI have eaten at fine establishments across this great land. I have dined under chandeliers carved from glacier ice and consumed sushi so fresh it filed a missing person’s report. Yet nothing—nothing—prepared me for the spiritual awakening that occurred inside this Mexican restaurant near Zion National Park under the divine supervision of our server, Kyler.
We ordered three chimichangas and one King Smothered Burrito. When Kyler set them down, the lights flickered, the earth trembled, and a mariachi band I swear wasn’t there five minutes ago began to play. My son took his first bite of the King Burrito and immediately grew two inches taller and started addressing us as “my subjects.” I don’t know what’s in that thing, but if the Declaration of Independence had a flavor, this was it.
My chimichanga, drenched in spicy red sauce, detonated on my taste buds like a mariachi concert in my soul. The heat was bold but loving—like being gently slapped by a passionate abuela who knows you can handle more. The white sauce on the others tasted like liquid forgiveness.
Kyler was flawless. Calm amidst the chaos. A culinary sherpa guiding us through the Himalayas of flavor. I asked him if Bigfoot was real, and he said, “There have been sightings.” I believed him instantly. Because if Bigfoot exists, he eats here. He probably tips well, too.
The complimentary chips and salsa? Life-changing. I dipped one chip and saw visions—birth, death, tacos. I briefly forgot how gravity worked. Somewhere between the third basket of chips and the last bite of chimichanga, I achieved enlightenment.
If aliens ever land on Earth and ask, “Take us to your leader,” I’m sending...
Read moreStopped here based on the other google reviews and we were not disappointed! Upon arrival, we realized the entrance is towards the back of the building and the parking lot is pretty spacious. We were quickly welcomed, seated and given menus. We received chips and salsa but the salsa wasn't very hot, so we asked for something hotter and the waitress brought us a red and a green salsa. Both were good but the green was hotter, so that was our go to. I ordered the carne asada plate and it came with rice, beans, a small salad and my choice of corn or flour tortillas (I went with the flour) and I ordered an agua de horchata. My husband went with the taco sampler (2 chicken, 2 carne asada, 2 carnitas). The carne asada was GREAT; it was juicy and tender and my husband was extremely happy with his meal as well. The restaurant was very clean and has art hanging on the walls that can be purchased and the music was GREAT which added to my experience. We heard Juan Gabriel, Los Bukis, Vicente Fernández. We'd definitely return if we're ever in...
