This is the worst Peruvian restaurant I have ever tried! To start, when I got there the place was completely empty at lunch time, (now, I know why) while the other restaurants in the area were packed considering the location (very close to Zion). You'll find a Peruvian woman running the front and back (with no mask), she is a charlatan, smiles and asks too many personal questions, makes you feel uncomfortable, but what she is really trying to do is to gain your trust so you don't notice how bad the food is. The food is completely bland as others have mentioned and on top of that my husband and I got food poisoning after eating at this place. The portions are ridiculously small for the price and they make you pay and tip before they serve the food. This is not a fast food restaurant, but what they try to do is to make sure they rip you off before you can do anything. The woman who took our payment, said she couldn't print the receipt, my husband requested a copy, she took very long, went to the back and came with a receipt almost when we were leaving. My husband found out they charged us $3 extra, this woman charged us for a plate we did not requested, she knew it, but her excuse was " I pressed the wrong key" we asked her to correct it, and she gave us $3 in cash, but no taxes or the extra tip I left for a different total she gave us initially. If we didn't notice the error, she wouldn't have let us know. Also, the "natural juices" are a joke, at $3.50 per a tiny cup, they are so much diluted with water, they are flavorless and not made out of real fruit. Needless to say, DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE. If you want to try Peruvian food, go to "VIVA CHICKEN" in St. George, it is the best...
Read moreFirst off, my wife and whole family are peruvians. Ive lived in Peru for over 3 years. So obviously we go to Peruvian restaurants whenever we can.
The kid at the front desk must really hate his job. We came in, sat down and waited for 10 minutes for someone to come to our table. He just sat there. I finally got up and he said that you have to place your order at the front desk. Ummm..ok.
Then he took over 10 minutes to bring our waters.(the soda machine was broke so water it was)
The food finally came, and the fries were soggy and the beef sausage was overcooked and was crispy. (Salchipapa)
The rice was overcooked and the flavor was blah. (Arroz chaufa)
I have had ceviche for many years. This is the first time i have ever NOT liked ceviche. The flavor was too much of onions and i couldn't even taste the Lime in it. I think they used the wrong fish. (Ceviche mixto)
The woman who was cooking and owns the place is suuuuper nice !. She came out to talk to us and even brought us out samples of other dishes they had. Unfortunately they were not good either. She was very nice though.
I hope they can improve on a few things. Like the way customers are treated when they walk in the door. The kid never even said hi. The floors were super dirty and the soda machine was broke. For a small can of soda, they wanted to charge $2. For a cup with ice, 40 cents more.
We were there for 2 hours on a friday afternoon. Not one other person walked in. That must be a sign that they need improvement. The lady is an amazingly nice person and has grear potential. But needs to work on things before we will ever...
Read moreWow…this was our second time here as the food seemed pretty OK the first time. It has been a few months since we were last here. As we walked in and inspected the menu we asked for recommendations from the owner (I’m assuming) who was at the front desk who we could barely understand since she didn’t speak English. She recommended numbers 1, 10 and 13. My husband ordered number 1 with beef, I ordered number 18 from the vegetarian options. (Stuffed potatoes with vegetables). She then recommended that we buy the cookies on the glass case and said they were really good, so we did. That was a separate transaction and the total came out to $7.23 after tax. There were five cookies in the box to begin with. It seemed very overpriced to me because they were really small cookies and when we tried them they were super dry and reminded us of dog treats. We left and went home which is about two minutes away before we opened our boxes of food. When we got home we realized that one of the dishes was wrong. Both of the plates had beef in them, we didn’t know which one was the wrong one but we knew one of the dishes was supposed to be vegetarian. Both of the place were pretty bland, and one of the plates was overly salty. We decided we were going to take the food back and just get a refund. When I walked back in the store to get a refund The same lady tried to argue with me about what we ordered. Instead of just giving us the refund we requested, she was telling me that we ordered the stuff she gave us. Definitely a waste...
