I will NOT be back to this place given their “customer service.” Owner would be very disappointed knowing his family is allowing staff like that to continue his business.
I was getting myself food(like I do monthly here) as I love their root beer and hot dogs, and witnessed a girl completely and utterly destroy another customer’s life. I guess the person was a doordash driver and they kept serving everyone but the lady sitting in the car for OVER 30mins. She was yelling at the customer, telling her they don’t even do doordash(AS THEY LITERALLY ACCEPT DOORDASH ORDERS)that she’s too busy to serve her, and that she can just sit out there until she’s not busy anymore. It’s a hot dog stand.. don’t accept DoorDash orders if you’re “too busy” to help ALL customers. At the end of the day, YOU have a business that requires being friendly at the bare minimum… you might be “busy” but so is the person using their gas, their car, and their time to take orders YOU accepted while delivering YOUR food. To make matters worse, the person delivering the food was a disabled veteran whom just got diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. I went to pay for their meal but couldn’t as it was a DoorDash order. Again, it’s a HOT DOG STAND.. and a customer(yes DoorDash included) shouldn’t have to wait over 30mins plus deal with an extremely rude worker. I encouraged her to call and speak to the owner and I HOPE she does. You lost some loyal customers today-ones who have been coming since opening. Completely unacceptable.
EDIT TO ADD: If the owner wants more info I will be GLAD to provide a description of the extremely...
Read moreI'd love to give this a better review but I'm just not able. I had been telling a friend how great this place was & was eager to take her given the chance. Well that chance came yesterday & I wish we had just went on somewhere else! I understand these kids that are working are young & just trying to earn a little cash, but what happened to taking pride in your job? The food was awful yesterday, all my side items tasted burnt and looked as if they had been cooked in a vat of old grease and my kids' hotdogs were rolled so tight and squished in the bottom of a bag so when I got their food out sauce and chili was everywhere and the bread was soggy. Needless to say, they didnt want to finish their food. My friends chicken sandwich was dressed wrong (simple mistake) but still avoidable. The burger was ok, but the meat was overcooked, thankfully the toppings kind of took that taste away. I will fault myself for not checking the food before we left, but really didnt think too, BC every other time I had been there it was Amazing! This trip definitely Made me think twice on coming back and unless y'all can get some workers who take a little more pride on preparing a meal then I'd say this will be my last trip. Its getting harder and harder to find a good place to take your family to eat anymore and I was hoping this little gem never made it...
Read moreI've tried this place a few times. I had a mediocre experience both times. I'm not sure if this place is regarded well because of wanting to support a local business or what, but my experience has been unimpressive.
Both times I've gotten chili dogs with onion rings, root beer and funnel cake. The hot dogs are bland, skinny and the toppings amount to what is basically lightly flavored pastes. The onion rings were clumped together and extremely oily. The funnel cake was ok, but was little more than fried sweet dough and was also rather greasy. I will say the root beer was quite good.
While not amazing, there was nothing wrong with the food. It was edible and the prices are very reasonable. Service was fine. Atmosphere is your car since you eat outside.
I genuinely wanted to like this place. The reason I came back a second time was because everyone speaks so highly of it and I thought surely I had just caught them on a bad day. But I can easily make better hot dogs at home with minimal effort, which isn't what I want when I go to a place who has famous hot dogs...
