Clean dining area. Food tasted ok, though it smelled like it was burnt. There were clusters of onion slices that hadn't been cut through enough to separate. The food was unevenly cooked. The chicken was in tiny pieces that were tough, and there were only a couple pieces of bell pepper and tomato each. It was mainly under and over cooked onion. That was the main part of the fajita lunch selection. The other items on the plate appeared to be fresh, except the refried beans, which were way too smooth and runny. The cheese we ordered was watered down too. The biggest problem is that we were treated as though we were the dine and dash type! My husband and I were freshly showered and had plain, inexpensive, clean clothes on. It's summer and we are traveling! It doesn't warrant treating us in that manner!! They set us in the back, came by every couple minutes, hung out at the next table for the last several minutes while we were finishing our meal, not giving us the check until we were ready to leave - asking, "are you going to pay?" Followed after an awkward moment with, "now?" What the heck?!? So we get in line behind too young, barely dressed girls paying for their meal and the woman accepting their payment stared past them at us the whole time. THEN, the (I assume) manager/ husband comes to take our payment and she leaves. He immediately shoved the card reader at me, before I even handed him the check. I had left a cash tip and intended to pay cash as well. When he told me how much - because no amount for anything wash on the check (which I even corrected from 1 drink to 2 as the waiter had made a mistake), the cash I had pulled out was not enough. The guy made a sigh and again pushed his card reader at me! I calmly pulled additional cash to pay the exact amount (to which he uttered "oh") and we left. I don't...
Read moreIt’s okay compared to what I’m use to in the Southwestern US. With not many good Mexican restaurants to choose from in the area, I’d say this is pretty decent. Service is good. Menu is big. Salsa is the best around for sure. Steak could be more tender. I ordered Chili Colorado which is traditionally spicy, theirs isn’t. I asked them to make it spicy; they did a good job without sacrificing flavor, then the server checked on us to make sure I liked how they made it. I’ve been a few times and will go again.
Disappointed in the Sopapilllas. Supposed to be fluffy pillowy pockets, but theirs are cinnamon sugar crispy chips, (Buñuelos), huge difference. They should name them correctly on their menu or make them right. It’s a huge let down when you get excited for sopapillas and Buñuelos arrive to your table. Nothing wrong with them, but Sopapillas are THE BEST and I’m not a fan of Buñuelos! That makes me sad. Please see description below:
Sopapillas vs Buñuelos: A sopapilla (soap/pah/pee/ya) is soft, sweet dough (made with flour), flash-fried to puff up into a pillow and drizzled with honey when served hot. A buñuelo (boon/whale/oh) is the same dough, deep fried to a flaky crispness, dredged in sugar and cinnamon, and usually...

Ate late lunch with my wife here today. The atmosphere is very eclectic: what used to be a Western Sizzler morphed into a Mexican Restaurant with both authentic & Americanized decor. Festive colors & very unique carved wooden booth seating. Plenty of room, too.
The staff is friendly and attentive. Non-alcoholic beverages are served in bottles as they have no soda fountain here, and I'm totally fine with that.
Food is good, but average. I like their guacamole mucho grande, but they're refried beans and queso dip seemed very "watered down" (very runny). My wife ordered Seafood Chimichangas (2 per order), and they are large. She brought one home because she couldn't eat both. I got the Enchiladas Special, which was 4 enchiladas, 1 each of cheese, bean, beef, & chicken. Nicely sized portions and very filling, covered with lettuce, tomato, cheese, & sour cream.
Conclusion: A good place to take those who like Mexican food without emptying your bank account. I wouldn't wait in line to eat here, but a good alternate for for late...
