This place doesn't even deserve 1 star. My family decided to eat dinner in this place on Mother's day. We ordered 1 Milanesa, 1 fajita beef nachos and tamales. Our food came in about 20 minutes, I said, wow that was fast! The milanesa tasted so bad that my husband couldn't finish it. The "beef fajita" tasted like liver and the tamales looked exactly like the canned tamales from the Hormel brand, exactly the same! even the “red sauce” smelled and tested the same! (yes, I tried those tamales before) I only eat one because the flavor was weird. All the sides were cold. This was our 3rd time there and I know sometimes the service is not the best, but what happened after made me really upset. I started feeling pain in my stomach and burping the tamale. My stomach was hurting so bad that I couldn’t sleep. I had to stay in one position only and not move during the entire night, and when I finally fall asleep the pain kept waking me up. I was miserable at work but I couldn’t miss my shift. I called the restaurant around 4 pm and asked for the manager, and Christina answered the call. I explained the situation and told her that I wasn’t feeling good and I was super honest with her and explain that the only one who got the food poisoning was me. She said she was going to ask the other manager what to do in a case like this. A couple of minutes later, she said that I have to go to the doctor and prove them that what I eat in that restaurant it is what it's hurting my stomach. I said that we ete dinner there and my stomach was hurting after Iare the tamale. I also said that there was no same day appointment with my doctor, then she said, well, go to the emergency room, and I asked her if they were going to pay for that and she said no. Then I asked her where those tamales came from, and I explained that they looked exactly like the ones from the can, she said I was mistaken. I told her that there was a review in Google where the lady shows that they used canned chicken for her food before, she said I was lying, and I repeat, no, the review and the picture are on the Google reviews and that's why I’m asking where those tamales came from because if you used canned chicken before you can easily serve canned tamales. She turned very rude and I finished my conversation with her. It is NOT RIGHT not to assume responsibility when you know you are doing something wrong. The place was full of flies, the food tasted horrible and it was cold. And I still feel sick after 24 hours. The least you can do is do the right thing and help your customers. No, I DON’T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. DON’T BRING YOUR FAMILY HERE. IF ANY OF YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS GET FOOD POISONING THEY WON’T DO ANYTHING FOR YOU. IT’S...
Read moreWent on a recommendation for a Mexican restaurant with an outdoor patio. The outdoor patio was very large and covered two sides of the building. It had a covered roof with fans and heaters, lots of space, and a huge bar with smaller flat screen tvs. Not good visibility for watching sports, though. The table were sticky and wet. There were two of us for dinner. This was finitely not dinner date material. The chips tasted like they came out of a bag, and the salsa came out of a jar. We asked if they had any hot salsa, and they tossed a plastic to go container of something green and creamy that was not guac and definitely not even medium spicy on the table. I say definitely not Guacamole because my burrito came with its own green green plastic container that was likely meant to be guac but was was likely avocado whipped with a whole lot if mayo, and it was oily and flavorless. The sides of rice and beans were cold, the entrees barely warm, both dishes lacked flavor, and the portion sizes were small. I ordered the special brisket burrito, thinking it would be big enough to split with my husband, and so he got 2 tacos. The burrito had very little meat, but lots of lettuce and tomato, was small and fried. It came with about 3 tablespoons if cold refried beans on a cold dinner plate. The bottle beer was not very cold. Waited forever for a bill though we were in the main traffic area. The place had lots of customers for a weeknight, is kid friendly, has very long indoor and patio bars, can accommodate large groups easily, and you could eat on that patio in the winter, so it has a lot of attributes. However, the food just didn't deliver the fresh Tex...
Read moreRios has always been my go to spot for some good fajitas and Margarita. The service today was lack luster as well as the food. So much so that I'll never be back.
Asked for a red headed Mexican with Tajin instead of a salted rim... waiter brings me the margarita, a Corona bottle on the side instead of already in the drink and no tajin. When I asked for the 3rd time he brought me another frosted empty mug with tajin on it. Soooo im supposed to do what, put together my own drink?
Ordered 2 orders of beef fajitas, and asks meticulously and specifically for the onions to be charred (almost black). Daughters fajitas came out with all of 5 strips of onions, not charred at all. And mine had more onions than hers but still pale white onions. Had to ask the waiter AGAIN for side of CHARRED onions and still they couldn't master that. 2 servers asked if they were right and I said no... then had the nerve to try and charge me extra for them. Daughter didn't want rice or beans, waiter told her "You know you can sub rice and beans for a salad". So she got a side salad (iceberg lettuce, 3 tomato slices and shredded carrots)... then on the bill charges me $2 extra for the side salad but never mentioned there was a fee for lettuce vs rice and beans. Nevermind that I was supposed to get double beans for mine since I didn't get rice... didn't receive that either.
Had to exchange the sweet tea twice because she was served unsweetened tea and finally we just opted for a sprite.
The whole ordeal was annoying. And shelled out $69....
