📍 Overall, my experience was positive: I was invited by my relatives to this restaurant and asked in advance if they had smoked grilled chicken—they confirmed that they did. When I read the menu, I noticed that pork was included. I informed the staff that I have a sensitivity to fats, especially pork, and requested that the chicken be cooked separately. They responded professionally and assured me that the grilling and preparation tools are completely separate, which I truly appreciated.

🍽️ The food was delicious, well-cooked, and the place was quiet, clean, and comfortable.

❗Important note: I kindly suggest that the restaurant’s management reconsider offering pork, especially since many customers—such as Muslims, Jews, and even many Christians—do not eat it. According to the holy books (the Psalms, Torah, Bible, and Qur’an), pork is prohibited. It would be thoughtful to reflect this diversity in your menu planning.

🌟 I hope you review your menu with respect for religious and cultural diversity, and continue maintaining the quality of your food and the cleanliness...

We decided to have a late lunch today and try out the new place. I ordered a 2 meat plate, brisket and jalapeño sausage, creamed corn and potatoes. My wife decided a baked potato with topped with turkey. The food came fast but what a disappointment. The meat was not hot at all, not even warm, basically room temperature. My wife’s baked potato was the same way. It wouldn’t even melt the pat of butter they provided! She even removed the meat to place the butter into the potato! I’ve never been to a bbq place that serves room temp meat and a baked potato that’s not steaming when you get it. Pretty disappointing for $28.00. I got a “to go” box for the potato left overs and was sure to let “a” manager know the issues. He made me feel like I wasted my time by telling me “thanks for letting me know.” Someone needs to let him know an apology goes a long way. I guess I should have talked to the General Manager who was walking around in a grey shirt. He should be checking food temps instead of walking around in the...

I used to live in Pflugerville and once I visited the SM's location in Round Rock but didn't really care much for it. I moved to the Hutto area a couple years ago so I decided to stop by and give it another try. Sadly, not much has changed.

I ordered 2 meat plate with turkey, brisket, potato salad. green beans and 1.2 lb of pork ribs. The brisket was more like brisket bacon as the majority was just fat, it think bacon has more meat than what I got served. The turkey was good, moist and tender, best of the meats. The ribs were just average, not much meat and not very tender, it did have enough smoky flavor.

The sides were just average, nothing special taste wise or appearance, just your average potato salad and canned green beans.

Because there are so many BBQ places in the area, I would think they could do a better job with their brisket but I guess inflation has affected everyone so they cut corners.

I won't be going back, especially since the new HEB in Pflugerville has a True BBQ place and...

We have just moved to Austin and are looking for a nice, comfortable family restaurant that can be our default restaurant when we can’t decide where to go. We both love barbecue but unfortunately we’re not impressed with Smokey Mo’s. We both had 2 meat plates, mile was brisket and sausage, with bacon cheddar potatoes and pinto beans, my wife’s was brisket and ribs with Cole slaw, pinto beans and a baked potato. I drank a bottle of Dos Equis, my wife drank soda. The baked potato and the pinto beans were cool but still good, unfortunately the meats were not so great. They were barely warm and sort of tasteless, they looked good on the plate, but very bland in taste. The restaurant is counter service but they still expect a tip, which they didn’t get as they didn’t provide any service just like any fast food restaurant. We so wanted this to be good, oh well, now we’ll have to continue our search for our go to barbecue place.

So here is the issue. As a BBQ restaurant you should know what cuts people ask for. I asked for end cut of the brisket with bark I got trimmed fat. I asked for multiple different cuts and they give the same unless I go in and literally have continuously repeat to them multiple times and explain the cut. I asked for 1lb of jalapeno sausage cut in half not sliced up and I got sliced up sausage. There was one lady cutting that got it right. Not sure if she is still there or not but lord there is nothing like getting home and realizing you didn’t get what you wanted and to back and fight with traffic just ain’t worth it.
