If I could do a half star, I would! First time to go, and went on advice of someone who'd been there once before. We were a party of six, and arrived a little after 6 p.m. on a slow Sunday evening. There were maybe 3 other customers at the time.
We placed our appetizer and drink orders. Our drinks came pretty quickly, however, the app took awhile to come. We immediately placed our food orders when we got our drinks.
I'd say it took about 30 mins for the first entree to arrive. Then nothing. He was nearly done eating (we encouraged our friend to eat while his food was hot) when the next two dishes arrived. Finally, after nearly an hour, the final three entrees arrived.
My daughter's Jalapeño Smothered Cream Chicken (?) was completely overcooked, and had a squirt of a bright green sauce on top. If that jalapeño sauce had cream in it, I couldn't see it. And smothered?? Not so much. A tablespoon at most!
I got their Smothered Burrito, figuring it was a safe choice, especially since our waitress told me it was excellent. Again, smothered?? Sadly, no. It had a small amount of chili spooned around the base. The lettuce they used as a filler, along with the ground beef, inside the tortilla, had gotten soggy. All other restaurants that I've ever ordered burritos from, they put the lettuce on top ... outside, atop the plentiful chili sauce.
Seeing that we were getting antsy throughout the "extended" dinner, our waitress apologized, saying there was only one cook working that night. She then admitted that she had "broken up the orders" so as to not overwhelm him. Whaaaaatt?? Seriously? ? If that cook can't handle six orders in one hour, he needs to quit!
The last straw was when she split the check wrong. We'd told her two ways (3 and 3), but she split it three ways. For what should've been a simple, quick dinner, it took two hours for us to get out of there. So the service was awful, the food was quite average, and it took a ridiculously long time to arrive!
Needless to say, we won't be going back there. However, I do have some advice. Rethink your recipes, your serving portions, and above all, take care of your customers, especially when you can take your time and make sure they're being served well. Otherwise ... Hall of Fame? Mmmmm, I would highly suggest a...
Read moreWorst customer service I've ever experienced! Tried to go and support local business, BIG MISTAKE seems to be a big clique with the overall same kind of people (no diversity). When outsiders walk in (we obviously stood out from their normal crowd) we were looked at the entire way to our seats. Moved locations/tables and again basically followed by all eyes. An obvious regular there didn't like the way something was stated to the bartender when trying to close out - and yes we were trying to close out b/c we had already felt so unwelcomed. The regular patron had the nerve to raise his voice and demand a please be added to the end of the statement to the bartender even though the bartender seemed to be perfectly find with our conversation and was even given a $20 tip on the $40 tab. The bartender thanked me and and I moved about the location but not before again I was comforted by this regular who continued to be rude and say inappropriate comments to me. I had to eventually raise my voice and be rude to him so he would get the picture I would not be kicked around or bullied. After returning to my table we tried to finish our drinks while observing a group of 5 other individuals (regulars I'm sure) cursing at each other, raising their voices, kicking each other (literally say two kicks followed by curse words). It was a big commotion but we sat and watch. Suddenly we were approached by Judy who came to ask our table to leave because we were causing the commotion. We were so shocked even though we were on our way out anyway. I let her know about the commotion going on with the big group right behind her and she simply ignored me and asked us to leave again. It's clear this place is not use to diversity in the space. Don't believe me - take a peek inside yourself. Minorities are...
Read moreMy husband and I went to HoF for a date night. We chose a booth in the dining room where 2 other parties were also seated. We ordered fried pickles as an appetizer. Several minutes later, and before we received our pickles, the waitress rerurned to take the rest of our order. We each ordered a burger. My husband requested no onions, and I requested no tomatoes. A few more minutes passed and our pickles arrived. I don't have exact times for the interactions so far because up to this point, nothing had taken overly long. The app took a bit longer than expected, but nothing to be alarmed about. Forty-five minutes after we placed our burger order, the waitress returned to tell us there had been a mix-up and our order had been given to someone else. She assured us that our food would be right out. Twenty minutes later, she brought our burgers. My husband asked whether there were onions on his burger before he picked it up. She said that she had asked the cook specifically. She had been assured there were no onions, and that she would throttle said cook if there were. As we ate, my husband transferred a handful of onion pieces to his napkin. The waitress did not return during our meal to ask how things were. When we were finished and she did return, he showed her the napkin of onions and she offered to take his burger off our tab and to give us a dessert because of the long wait. We ordered the brownie sundae, which arrived quickly. The brownie was dry and slightly burned on the bottom, which was exactly what I expected by this point. I give 2 stars because, despite the slow service and the unwanted onions, the burgers were very tasty. This was our first, and will be our only, visit to The Downtown...
