Tried Southside Market today. Very cool atmosphere. You see their meats you can buy and take home. The gentleman who started our order didnt seem as friendly as the gal who stepped in to help us answer questions. Which is not a fun way to start a new visit with a place. But I dont know what kind of day they were having. But when he stepped aside that improved the experience. The food, I felt was good. I got 1 very thin lean piece of brisket and 2 normal sliced size fatty brisket. I wish it were all lean. I also wish that the lean pieces were thicker. They all were very thinly cut. Really? The flavor rub was acceptable. It tasted pretty good. But dont expect to be wow'd. Usually I go to the bbq sauce. They have 2 types there, but they tasted more like tomatoe soup than bbq sauce. The sauces both were a little lacking on flavor. The jalepeno cheese sausage was also, Ok. The flavor for that was mild. But didnt taste like what you'd expect cheese jalapeƱo sausage to taste like. The sides were ok, had potatoes salad and a bag of chips. The chips were great! That Mrs Vicki knows how to chip. After this i was wondering if my taste buds are broke or if what. But my family was with and all shared a similar experience on the flavors. This place has some real potential to be a great bbq joint! I think they need to revisit their flavors and offer a richer bbq flavor with bolder sauces. Think devils spit from famous Dave's. Great sauce and that alone could really elevate this spot. About 7:30ish we dropped in to grab a quick dinner and witnessed the POOREST display of customer service by a worker named Sarah D. She took the customers order and rang them up. I heard the customer place her order (a combo plate with a bun on the side instead of sliced bread). While we were waiting to pay for our dinner, the customer returned to the register because her order was wrong. She was served a Southside combo sandwich instead of a combo plate. In the grand scheme of things, no big deal. The customer just wanted to get the correct item. The employee wouldnāt let the customer get a word in edge wise trying to shame her about not ordering her meal correctly, that she wasnāt listening to a word the customer was saying. I am certain everyone in line knew exactly what was happening. Honestly, I was embarrassed for Sarah, the employee. And when she finally conceded and tried to correct the customers order she proceeded to speak to her colleague, who appeared to be in training like she was a toddler. I have never been so embarrassed to be in a situation like I was tonight, and I wasnāt even the customer who received this disgusting customer service. This is definitely a teachable/training...

(picture of fat) I showed the head server the fat, and he gave me a fourth to make up for it, but it, too, was riddled with fat. Southside changed their portion sizes: we received very little beans. John's mac 'n cheese was smaller than my potato salad. And our food was barely warm. John's peach cobbler and the extra black cobbler (given with trepidation) were made out of biscuits, so he didn't eat them.
Why are servers afraid to talk with customers? Not all customers are rude, and most do not get angry. There are Christians and non- Christians who just want to be treated fairly and want value for their hard earned money. Overall, the customer service was better this time around, Southside Hutto has a new staff. The older lady at the register demonstrated the best customer service we've seen so far at this BBQ restaurant. We ate on the patio because it was more comfortable; the ceiling fans make our food cold. BBQ is very expensive, so I'm not interested in returning to this restaurant. Zero! Second visit, we left because they didn't even wait on us! Our first visit was really good, back in 2020. There was Nš« fat calf or excess fat inside my pork steak.
