Jamaica Jerk Choice Inc. — Restaurant in Hyde Park Township

I have been going to jerk choice for years I started when they were in calumet city . I was so disappointed when they closed down and than when I seen they was opening one on 95 I was excited . This place has went down hill doesn’t care about the long term customers I had bad customer service service more than once I have spoke with the owner a few times and he gets on top of it but I guess that’s when they first started once it was really up and running I guess the people that are working there is running it to the grown when he’s not there is what I’m getting . I went to day I stay a hour a way but when I got time and visit city I go out my way to stop by . It’s a girl with faux locks pink and blonde she needs to not work at all . Her customer service , multitasking and problem solving is horrible . I walk back in to see if my order ready it’s a man in front of me complaining about he has no sides in his order and the girl (worker ) say you had a whole dark . At that point I knew she gave him my order because that was my order she went back and fourth with him about it and he kept telling her he has a receipt to show what he was saying was true she was dismissive and went to back didn’t apologize or anything had him give her whole chicken back give him correct order I sat at window for minutes saying excused me to tell her that was my order given away and how long will it take she ignored me you can rewind the cameras I called while at the window telling her it was me and I kept trying to get her attention about when will it be ready because it’s been a hour she sarcastically said you want to wait or want the chicken he brought back .... how disrespectful! Once my order came up I go to car ordered egg rolls to try because we had a nice ride back and that would hold me off after picking up egg rolls seen a popsicle stick I was in disbelief in install called and they was going back and forth I just walked back in because I never moved the car they kept going back and fourth as if I planted it there . You got a little girl no older than 6 running around the kitchen literally and now a stick is in my tray where did it come from I didn’t do it I didn’t go any where they gave me a refund and continue to talk like I lied so I turned back around and gave them the refund back and let them know I would report because that was nasty and a hazard and i don’t care if it wasn’t inside the egg rolls seen it was nasty to even be in the tray and wanted them to know I don’t know what they took me for someone who trying to get over so I gave them the egg rolls and the refund back because now I will be reporting this since yall want to blame me for yall mistake when yall was making all types of mistakes in the door much as I line them they have lost a long time customer and I will never ever come back . Sauce not even same I paid for so much extra and it’s light and taste...

They must have just recently added this place to google, they have been open for a while with no way to review them. Nonetheless a few months ago I met my lady up here in the parking lot and she placed an order to go. when she brought the food back to the car she opened the container and the presentation looked decent. I was on an important call so she performed all the store transactions. When I tasted the rice and peas the rice was over/undercooked, not significantly but it was crunchy. I told my lady to take it back and make sure they are aware. I also asked her to place a separate order for string beans which I think their large is 4oz or something crazy like that so I asked her to order 2 which came out to $16, again they had no website so I didn’t know since I was in the car. When she mentioned the rice and peas to the cashier, the cashier went and retrieved I guess the cook and or owner of this monstrosity of a restaurant and he tells my lady that she was the first one to complain all day about it. Maybe we did just get an overcooked/undercooked corner but when she explains it him, he huffs and puffs at her that he didn’t have time for this cause he was really busy trying to get orders out and asked her what she wanted to do cause my lady was wasting his time. He then gave her a separate side of Mac and cheese for free. Nonetheless my lady didn’t tell me till after we made it home and this store closed. I was furious when she told me but her knowing me she knew I would have went bonkers disrespecting her like that. The string beans had very little taste if any, probably taste the chicken broth if anything and the chicken was almost as if it was baked and not grilled. No sauce on them at all even with the sauce it was still mediocre. I make better jerk chicken than this place using the walkers marinade and my own grill. My lady said the same thing about the Mac and cheese super bland, so was the cabbage. Do not patronize this restaurant. Cashier ride and unprofessional. I ordered a Combo meat dinner. I looked at the receipt and it was for something totally different. Brought it to her attention, she got angry and said that she would fix it. Meal came out and I checked it. Nope, this is not what I ordered.
