Jamaican Jerk Spice — Restaurant in Hyde Park Township

This restaurant has horrible Customer Service !! Today 7/31/2021 I tried to order via Grubhub. The website had their site listed as closed , so I called the restaurant and spoke with an employee who said she will look into the issue and that it should work!! I have ordered pickup up numerous times from this restaurant! She never informed me while we were on the phone that pickup was unavailable! I ordered my food via Grubhub and waited outside of the restaurant until it was ready!! Grubhub notified me that my food was in the works!!! Once I came in to retrieve my order she asked for my name I gave it to her! She said I don’t have your order, confused I showed her my phone! This woman shooed me away and said we don’t do pickups! I explained I had no knowledge of that since my order actually went through! She preceded to ignore me and repeat “we don’t take pickups..we don’t take pickups” she would not even allow me to talk!! She didn’t offer to actually make the order or remedy the situation! I just paid for my food and waited 45mins for an order that was never started on!!! Majority of the workers here are very disrespectful and arrogant in their approach!! Absolutely no customer service!!! I try to support foreign businesses..but this experience has truly showed me how arrogant people can act when they have a business!!! The lady was so rude and disrespectful and never explained anything to me! I called Grubhub and the associate said the restaurant accepted the payment and was notified of my order!!! I received my refund but I want to warn everyone else before you deal...

The food is good but the service particularly from the lady that takes orders is undeniably the worst. She has absolutely no people skills and her phone and in person presence is extremely unpleasant.

I ordered food this evening and when I went to pay for my food she looks me up and down and says she remembers me from last time and accuses me of not paying for my food. This is absolutely absurd as they don't even give you your food before you pay so how did that happen. I even went as far as showing her the deduction from my account on the said date and she then ignorantly asks me how is the money deducted from my account but not from her register. Ma'am I can't explain how your tools work or do not work for that matter but it clearly showed I paid on my end. I will NEVER step foot inside that establishment and if the owner cares about her business she will get rid of that lady immediately. She is the epitome of bad for business. As I think back I believe she was jealous and just wanted to get a rise out of me. So sad! People's mental health is severely...

Firstly the location of the restaurant is at a good spot which creates available parking. Additionally, the jerk sauce was good. Now I am not sure why is this establishment still open because the quality of food delivered was the lowest I have ever seen in my life. Chef Ramsey would have thrown the entire restaurant away. Here are some observable issues.

The server was consistently coughing over the meals. Considering the pandemic they should wear a mask since they are handling food.

The jerk chicken was very burned and extremely dry.

The meal had no taste at all and I nearly choked. They definitely need to improve on their customer service. Lastly, the restaurant smelt funny and I felt sick after eating the chicken leg.

So my question is, do residents really know what Jerk chicken taste like? Because this is not it. I pray they read this. Once the food you create is done without love it will...
