See Thru Chinese Kitchen — Restaurant in Hyde Park Township

I have eaten from here for years now. They recognize my name and address. For some reason, the operators thought it would be acceptable to tell me I have to meet the delivery driver in the street because he will not be walking up to my apartment building. I find this to be deplorable for multiple reasons. 1) I was expected to pay the same delivery fee for them to bring my food to my door as they have in the past for them to sit in their car and hand my food from the window. 2) This is a predominantly Black neighborhood, and my Asian business owners come to communities such as mine and stigmatize our community members. Their fear of getting out of the car at a certain time of night is presumptuous and criminalizing and prejudiced. 3) Their food is mediocre at best.

This place has average food. I order from them when I absolutley can't leave the house. Anything with a sweet sauce, is way too sweet. What pisses me off is the driver had the audacity to complain that I didn't give him a tip. I pointed out that I gave him a few dollars...he counted then said it wasn't enough. First of all I shouldn't have given him a thing because delivery was as much as my food. Second of all you don't get to tell me how much when it could have been ZERO! I work for tips myself, so I didn't stiff him like I should have. Oh well, I won't be order from them...

You get a lot of food for the money. HOWEVER, they screw up orders all the time. The lady who takes phone orders can barely comprehend English. Even when she ran my order back to me correctly, she STILL managed to screw it up. I'm sure they have no one else that speaks more fluently than her, which is pathetic. Customer service is awful.
