Tropic Island Jerk Chicken — Restaurant in Hyde Park Township

I have been coming to restaurant for years and the food has for the most part been good. However today was the worst service I have ever received. I placed my order online and they stated that sometimes the order does not come through. But the older gentlemen who I believe is the owner was very nice and he has always been pleasant with me and my family and friends. So he told the lady at the counter to assist me. So she asked what was my order, I was trying to find it on my phone, so I stated it was a jerk dinner, then I corrected it and stated it was a lunch. That was the beginning of a bad attitude with her. So I had to wait for my order. I ordered white chicken but I received dark, I asked her if she wanted to see the receipt and she looked through me as if I wasn't speaking. So I stated I had a pop as well, she gave it to me but I could see the digust all over her. I've been going here for many years but I will never return. It was not my fault the online ordering was not working. This was my first time trying it. Mistakes happen but I didn't deserve to be treated so poorly when I'm spending my money and I was very kind and patient despite there system flaws. I like and respect the older gentleman but I will never return nor will my family...

Use to be my go to place to get Jerk, not anymore. There food is good but their customer service leaves alot to be desired. I called to make my order and was told about 15 minutes. I live over 20 minutes away. And that was AFTER waiting the 15 minutes to get it made. Over an hour later my food is not made and they care nothing about other people's time. They can call to tell people their order is ready but can't or more accurately refuse to call the customer and tell them that the order will take longer. For over an hour I had to wait. And when I called the first girl said all she does is take the orders. When I spoke to someone else they had a nasty attitude. I asked why was I told to come in 15 minutes if my food was going to take an hour. She replied with a nasty attitude that it was an approximate time and thet were busy and hung up the phone on me. My order was one of the last orders made for the night and they close at 730. I use to love this place, now I'm actively looking for a new jerk restaurant and will not give an recommendation. Customer service has ruined...

This establishment states there is a dining in option. I even called asked about dining and was told "yes, a dining area is available." Well... the dining area was closed and locked! Before and after waiting at the counter to place my order, I asked about dining in again, (because I see the area is closed, dark and locked). The room is then opened for us, (2 people in our party). The room was COLD, musty, (not really sure how that can be, but it was!) and not inviting at all! Plus either the lights were just going off, or the staff kept turning them off. When I asked for heat, the staff thought that was funny. I was told to lodge my complaint with the owner, the owner never came to talk to us. My sister enjoyed her food and they had a steady stream of customers. Maybe I was too cold to really taste me food, but it was mediocre to me. Let me say, had I known this place was just carry-out, I could have made a fully informed decision about dining there, but my issue is misleading information that lead to a disappointing...
