You can pretty much take my review from the SLC location and port it to this one (including my comments about their Caesar salad dressing being the consistency of spackle!). Been to both locations numerous times.
All in all, these are like Golden Corrals that actually take some time to do (more) things right. Good selection. Reasonably priced. Generally attentive servers. Items are refreshed often.
It was a busy Friday when we visited recently. As a result, our server was a bit slow to refill our beverages. Then again, I think I noticed less servers covering the floor than in previous visits. So, you know, staffing. That said, he was polite, funny, and quick when we flagged him down and asked for something.
I think buffets had, and still have, their value. They serve a very specific niche when it comes to food (esp. when you recognize that there are distinct tranches for buffets; this isn’t one of those casino-type buffets that are rapidly being replaced by over-priced food halls in places like Vegas).
If you come in thinking that your family is getting ripped off because of the prices, I think you might be being unreasonable. If you come in thinking you are going to get pre-pandemic pricing, I think you might be being unreasonable. And if you come in thinking you are not getting buffet food served buffet-style, you are a dolt who really needs to figure out what the heck you were doing here!
If you come in with reasonable expectations, I think C-A-R will most likely fulfill them. I have often left this place happy. I have also most often left full. When I am in the area, I will continue to frequent this C-A-R. The price/quality ratio places it firmly in the 4-star category.
Thanks for another nice visit. Appreciate it.
