The Tortilla Factory ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I recently visited The Tortilla factory in Boise for the first time. It was late in the evening and I hadn’t had anything to eat that day except for an English muffin, so I was starving. I ordered the following:
Fish Taco ($4.25) - They use catfish for their fish tacos. Wrapped in a homemade tortilla that was thick and chewy, it was delicious! Next time I’ll try the shrimp taco.
Chile Rellano (5.25) - Holy goodness! This was quite possibly the best Chile Rellano I have ever had. I cannot tell you how much willpower it took to refrain from going back to get another one the next day. But that won’t stop me from going back sometime next week. LOL. Seriously though, it was spectacular!
Small Taco Salad ($7.75) - I love that their salads are available in two different sizes. After wolfing down the fish taco and Chile Rellano, I was pretty full and not able to polish off the salad but I made a good dent in it and I ate the rest the next day for breakfast. You get to choose what kind of meat and beans you want. I went with the shredded beef and pinto beans. I got the Avocado Ranch dressing which was delicious. The salad was outstanding! It was packed full of yummy ingredients and topped with the freshest chopped lettuce and tomatoes. Can’t wait to order this again too. Next time I’ll try a different meat/bean combo.
Flan ($4.25) - The texture of the flan was thicker/firmer than any I’ve had before but the flavor was very good. I wouldn’t hesitate to order it again. But next time I’m going to try the corn cake dessert.
One of my menu items must’ve come with two small flour tortillas which was an unexpected bonus. I eat them the next day with a little cheese melted in them, rolled up. I’m telling you, there’s nothing like the flavor and texture of homemade tortillas. These were delicious!
I love that many of the menu items are available à la carte, which is how I like to order so I can try a wide variety of menu items.
The service was excellent! Aldo did a great job of answering all of my questions and helping me figure out what to order. The young woman preparing my food was very kind and accommodating.
I like that this business is conveniently located near the Boise Costco. I regret that this was first time visiting this wonderful family owned business, but I plan to make up for lost time by frequenting it as much as possible in the future. I consider this one of my favorite “new to me” restaurants for 2022.
This business does catering and they’re currently offering $10 off of a $50 catering order. That’s a heck of a deal! If anyone’s considering a Mexican themed get together in the near future, $10 off or not, I would recommend you consider having The Tortilla Factory do your catering.
Highly Recommended!!!
