So I show up and meet some friends for a few drinks. Things are all good till we go out on the patio and take a nicotine break. Our waitress comes out to check on us and takes our order and is casually conversing with us, (nothing outside small talk) then boom a new waitress demands our card for a tab thats clearly already been started. She was nothing but rude and states that it's policy and our previous waitress forgot. Mind you 4 drinks have been ordered between two people. So to my understanding this new waitress has our drink order from the first waitress. She then brings back my card and only 1 of 2 drinks. She was very short worded and very unpleasant to deal with. Then we try to tell her why we're confused by what happened. Immediately after we try and address our issues with what has happened with no warning, she gets very loud, irritated, and disrespectful. Saying "I'm not gonna do this, I don't need your advice", all while using hand gestures. Then I say "we are just reciprocating the same energy you're giving us." Then magically She meets the first waitress in the door clearly within ear shot stating we are being so rude to her. Keep in mind we were just trying to figure out as to why we switched waitresses. After she came back out the second drink came out with the closed tab that I asked for when she said "I'm not gonna do this." I'm definitely not impressed as a boise local and this is not how I wanted to interact with her but will not be bullied when I'm a paying customer. This was my second time at hooligans and it's very questionable if I'll ever go back. Such...
Read moreEDIT: As requested by the owner, I did return to the establishment and was treated to a wonderful meal & cocktails. My concerns were definitely dealt with in a very professional manner. I have changed my rating to 5 star to reflect the wonderful way the owner was diligent in making my next experience a great one. Thank you Jay, you have a great place & I am very impressed with your professionalism at making sure Hooligans Pub is a wonderful place to eat & enjoy! Thank you, Brenda
After our initial feeling of being ignored for 8 minutes, our server did come & get our drink order. Drink was very tasty! Beer was ice cold & yummy. We were there for an hour or more having drinks & saw all kinds of delicious food brought by us until we couldn’t take it any more and ordered! Nachos & garlic Parmesan cauliflower. It was the most disgusting food I’ve ever eaten! We took a couple bites of both dishes & couldn’t eat anymore. When our server asked us about the food we told her how much we disliked it, she didn’t really respond. She took the full dishes back to the kitchen without an apology. What surprised me the most was that there was no mention of a discount or subtraction of the cost of the food! We paid full price for food we couldn’t eat, without so much as an apology! Very saddening! I doubt if we’ll ever bother to try...
Read moreI had high hopes for Hooligan’s especially after hearing about how awesome their burgers are. However I found this sport bar pretty average. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t bad in any way at all but it wasn’t exceptionally memorable either.
My husband and I sat at the bar and ordered a PBR ($3.00) and cranberry vodka ($6.00), respectively. For grub, we chose Nachos ($9.00/half order, $16.00 for full) with beer cheese (+$2.00) and chicken (+$3.00), and the highly acclaimed Hooligan’s Burger (locally-raised, grass-fed beef with grilled onions, lettuce, tomato on an Acme brioche bun with fries, $13.00) with American cheese. The price is just right for the great quality of the food. The nachos were fantastic – they were extremely generous with the toppings which were all fresh. I couldn’t really tell a difference in the cheese. The burger was cooked just pink enough (which is default, you have to tell them if you’d like it more well done). But it wasn’t much more than another pub burger. Again, I am not saying it wasn’t great. It just didn’t stand out in my long, long list of fantastic burgers the Treasure Valley offers. Fries were yummy! I would definitely return for the great...
