Aug 13 2023, we visited between 3-4 AM. Whomever is doing the scheduling at this store needs to get their head handed to them. Drive thru: young man asks "do you have an online order?" Before saying even a greeting, we reply no and the young man immediately apologized genuinely, welcomed us to Jack In The Box, apologized again and said, quote "I'm so sorry, I'm the only one here right now and I'm really slow."
While he said the word Slow, his tone indicated Exhausted.
We ordered a #10, #6, 4 tacos. As he had told us, without telling us, he was dead on his feet we simpilfied our normal order (we do a lot item removals typically). This poor young man was so exhausted he became confused if the #10 had cheese, by asking us 3-4 different times confirming if we did or didn't want cheese. 3-4 times confirming our combo sizes, type of fries, drinks.
Of course, it's 3ish AM, kid is Alone, so we're not upset. We're empathetic for what he's having to do to make a wage that doesn't even allow him to meet the cost of living in this valley.
At the window, we paid, he apologized again, and handed us our drinks. He was FAST, we watched him zipping around making everything and he got it to us hot and as quick as if he had each station manned. He asked all the typical customer service questions one expects at drive thru. He did get the order wrong on the #10 (no cheese when there was supposed to be), but the food was better than it has been in a while.
He also forgot to return our debit card. No biggie, right? We forgot it as well, and didn't notice till this morning. We have been calling all day, just to confirm it's still there...no answer. At all. Unfortunately we are across the valley and we will have to spend excess gas and money to get all the way back there...with no way of knowing for sure our card is still there.
I don't know who the scheduling manager but either they screwed the pooch. OR management is so toxic that when someone calls out sick, no other employees are willing to help. OR corporate is so toxic that they're letting their greed make them run skeleton crews.
No matter what the source of the problem, I don't think we'll be returning to a joint who burns up their employees so callously. Which sucks, it's one of the few places open when we do our night owlling. But is good, cause we'll save money and eat healthier at home.
Young man, if you happen to read this, thank you. Thank you being there and working so dang hard. I hope you can find a job that pays you what you're worth because your work ethic is worth so much more than what...
Read moreI am writing this review today in regard to what I consider the single worst treatment I have ever received at any restaurant in my life. Earlier today, I entered this Jack in the Box and planned on ordering dinner. After I entered the restaurant, I approached the restroom to wash my hands. As I neared the restroom, an employee with the nametag "Maya" (or perhaps "Maia") yelled "Every single time!" I was not sure what she was referring to, so I ignored the remark and washed my hands in the restroom.
As I exited, I realized that I had left my wallet in the car. I began walking toward the door, and as I started to exit the restaurant, this same employee loudly and rudely exclaimed "thanks for buying food!" at me. I stopped, turned around, and said "excuse me, what did you say?" The employee immediately responded with, "I said, 'have a good day,'" blatantly denying the rude remark.
At this time I asked to speak with the manager, and an employee with the nametag of "Austin" approached the counter. I explained the situation to him, and only once he was present did Maya admit to saying "thanks for buying food," but tried to pass it off as a joke. Austin just stared at me, and only mumbled "ok, sorry" under his breath, while Maya rolled her eyes and laughed. This manager did not seem to care about his employee's offensiveness toward me in the slightest.
I decided against eating at that restaurant (or any Jack in the Box in the foreseeable future), and after driving away decided to call the restaurant to ask for the corporate complaint number. Austin answered the phone, and provided me with a local cell number that is clearly not the corporate complaint line.
I can read between the lines, and clearly "Maya" was frustrated at her perception of me entering to use the restroom without buying food, even though that was not the case. This kind of rude and condescending behavior is absolutely unacceptable in any sort of customer service environment. I own a company myself, and if one of my employees exhibited this type of behavior I would have fired them on the spot. Additionally, the manager - someone I would expect would have a little more professionalism and integrity than a regular worker - demonstrated blatant apathy toward my concern and dismissed me just as rudely as...
Read moreWhere do I even begin? My mom and I stopped in for a quick dinner, and right away we noticed how off the atmosphere felt. The trash bins were overflowing, there was spilled milk on the floor with just a wet floor sign next to it—clearly no one had taken the time to actually clean it up—and nearly every table was dirty.
As for the food, our order was mostly correct, but we were given the wrong fries—and they were cold. My chicken sandwich was also missing the cheese I said yes to, and we didn’t receive the ranch we asked for. I went up to the counter to ask for the correct fries and some ranch. The guy helping me wasn’t exactly rude, but he definitely wasn’t friendly either. He asked if we had ordered ranch (we had), then asked how many I wanted. I told him six, because I love ranch, and he responded—loudly and sarcastically—“Yep, six ranch for free, no problem,” as if I was being a burden, even though it was part of our order.
All in all, 10/10 would NOT recommend this Jack in the Box—or any of them, really. We used to love Jack in the Box, but in the past four months, we’ve been to two different locations in the Boise area, and both were...
