Where do I start?
Everything was fantastic! That is a hard pitch to make, and probably harder for you to catch, but it is 100% legit! The food...authentic and great tasting. The mixed drinks from the bar...spot on and delicious! The service...attentive, friendly and impeccable!
I can honestly say, it was the best dining experience I have had in several years. We had the fried green tomatoes for an appetizer. They were great! I had a cup of a homemade spinach artichoke soup and it was awesome. I ordered the shepherds pie, and it was the best I have had from any restaurant. The portions were generous, and the food was fantastic.
As far as service goes... a big shout out to Jake! He was on top of everything. Friendly attitude, made conversation, had great recommendations, and was just a pleasure to interact with. He made sure we were happy with our food, that we had everything we needed and made us feel like the only customers he had to wait on in a very full restaurant.
Every server was hustling and tending to their tables intently. The entire staff was just flowing the night we went in there. Even the bussers, and runners were on top of their game.
This was our first time here while traveling through, and I will say that if we are EVER traveling through again, this will be the ONLY stop we will make for food! Like I told the manager, the town is lucky to have them, and I only wish we could be so fortunate as to have a place like theirs nearby to where we live.
Bring them your business, enjoy their food and hospitality and you will have a phenomenal...
Read moreAt D’Arcy’s Pint, the horseshoe arrives like a dare from the universe, a molten, overburdened monument to appetite that neither apologizes nor explains itself. Bread lies buried beneath mountains of meat and an avalanche of fries, all smothered under a tidal wave of cheese sauce so rich and relentless it blots out thought. It is not a meal so much as an edible landslide, a warm and heavy reminder that pleasure and self-destruction often share a plate.
Each bite delivers comfort in the same way a weighted blanket does, soothing, immovable, impossible to escape once you’ve committed. Somewhere between the first forkful and the moment you question your life’s direction, you realize the horseshoe’s secret: it feeds not hunger, but the deeper, nameless ache of existence. It will fill you, completely, and yet leave a hollow echo where ambition once lived. And still, like so many before you, you will return. Because in the absurdity of modern life, there is dignity in choosing your own undoing, especially when it’s smothered in cheese.
D’Arcy’s executes this ritual with unwavering devotion. The service is efficient, the atmosphere cheerfully oblivious to the existential reckoning happening on every plate. And so, four stars, not withheld out of disappointment, but out of respect. For even the finest descent into caloric oblivion must leave room for mystery, longing, and the faint hope that next time, perhaps, you will emerge unchanged.
You won’t. But the illusion is worth at...
Read moreWe had lunch here and the horseshoe and ponyshoe were excellent. There was a short wait on a Saturday afternoon, but we were seated rather quickly. I ordered the Nutty Irishman drink which was essentially an adult milkshake and was rather good! We ordered the chili dippers as an appetizer and it was delicious. The chili dippers included fried potatoes that you dipped in a homemade chili cheese dip. Can you say YUM!! Each of us in our party ordered either a horseshoe or ponyshoe. If you haven’t heard of this amazing dish let me explain. It is a delectable dish that includes a protein on a piece of Texas toast that is then covered in fries and a homemade cheese sauce. Hello?? This is an amazing combo and definitely not low cal or low fat dish. Go ahead and splurge on those calories and fat, it is sooo worth it! I had a buffalo chicken ponyshoe and the fried chicken breast was tender and delicious. The addition of the fries and cheese make this even better. My husband and son both had a horseshoe and a ponyshoe that included seasoned ground beef. My husband’s switched up the cheese sauce with a spicy cheese sauce, not overly spicy but just the right amount. This was more than enough food and we each had leftovers remaining.
Our service was good and our server was good. D’Arcy’s Pint will be a definite visit when we...
