Our sixth visit. This time I had ceviche de camarones, and my wife had a cheese quesadilla with sides of salad and churro beans. We also had guacamole which came in a small tortilla shell. The ceviche was delicious and the portion was huge. It came with toasted tortillas. We both thought the beans and the guacamole were about the best we've had locally, the chips with the 4 different salsas are always a treat. 7/17/2021 Returned to Moroleon Tropical for the first time in over a year. It was crowded and noisy, and unfortunately my wife and I were seated next to five young women who were incredibly loud, or at least one of them was. Conversation was nearly impossible. After almost 20 minutes, a server asked what we would like to drink, we told him, the drinks came promptly, and then we waited almost half an hour for him to take our order. The good thing was he had brought the four bottles of salsa and a basket of warm tortilla chips, so we didn't go hungry. One salsa seemed to be new; deep pink in color and mild, it was delicious. Finally the server returned, took our orders, and we then had another 20 minute wait before they arrived. I had ordered ceviche de camarones and guacamole; my wife had vegetarian flautas. We had to ask for tableware. He provided two small packets of child-size plastic utensils with a tiny napkin; everyone around us had metal utensils and a large napkin, but he disappeared before we could request them. The guacamole was good, but the tortilla shell bowl was soggy. My wife's flautas were good but they were almost impossible to eat with the plastic knife and fork, so she ate what she could with the spoon and one flauta with her fingers; she took the rest home. My ceviche was, at best, mediocre -- so bland that even salt and pepper didn't help. I, too, ate it with a spoon. Our server never came to the table to ask how the meal was or to offer drink refills. When we were finished, there was another by now obligatory wait of 20 minutes for the check. He didn't return to pick it up, so we left the correct amount on the table and went home, having spent about 2+ hours for what should have been an hour-long meal. This visit was worth ** at most. So...

Tropical Morleon is a great family ran small business. For starters, they give you three different sauces, including a salsa, making a total of four with homemade tortilla chips. They have a spicy sauce , a smoky sauce , a green chili sauce, and regular salsa, all made in-house. I usually get the Morleon Fajitas, which is always fantastic and a huge portion of food. I decided to get the steak chimichanga, which is the largest and most flavorful in town, in my opinion. It's as big a a full size burrito. Usually, restaurants want to serve two little chimichangas with a mediocre amount of filling inside. Not here. Tropical Morleon loads it up with meat, plus they add rice and beans on the inside. I also, in the past have had the Molchajete, which was delicious. They do not have a children's menu but will easily accommodate the shorties. Their margaritas are strong, so pace yourself on those or not. Either way, you'll feel good after one. The service is good and fast for having one server who is also the owner. I recommend this place as it is not your typical average joe Mexican restaurant. The prices are very fair as well, considering the...

Will NEVER eat here again. If you are thinking about eating here, Don’t! First of all there was a kid at the bar then an even smaller child SITTING ON THE FLOOR behind the cash register. Several of the drinks that are on the menu they don’t have and I believe never did. The drink I ended up getting the chunks of ice were so big it wouldn’t come through the straw. Table and chairs are dirty. We should have got up and left at this point but we were hungry. Food was underwhelming and not hot. The waitress/owner has a NASTY/RUDE ATTITUDE. The service was terrible. She never asked if we wanted a refill of our water, napkins, any freaking thing. She had to be flagged down like I was landed a plane in. We left unsatisfied. Ended up leaving a jacket behind, my niece went in to get it, do you know that same rude chick had the nerve to tell her “come here let me talk to you, you have to leave a tip when you eat in or don’t come” ARE YOU OUT OF YO MIND?! Don’t you ever in your life come at a customer like that. This place will be closed down and collecting dust soon. Three...

This is the best Mexican Restaurant in town and it’s not even close. It may seem like a hole in the wall, but to me it’s a hidden gem. It’s a mom and pop restaurant, the husband is making the food and the wife is the sever for the whole restaurant. They care a lot about the restaurant and work extremely hard. You will notice when you walk in that aesthetically it is very pleasing. You get salty perfectly fried crispy chips and four unique salsas. My recommendation is to mix all of them with just a drop of the spicy. Their baskets for the chips are clean, unlike all the Mexican restaurants in town. I usually will get a margarita with my friends. They are strong and the frozen strawberry is my favorite. Their menu is large with dishes you will not find anywhere else in Springfield. They have the best chicken cheese and rice and the portions will always leave you with lunch for tomorrow. This is one of my favorite locally owned restaurants in Springfield. I come here every week and sometimes twice a week.

My shrimp tacos were good, but my daughter didn’t care for her tropical salad. Best salsa in town though.

Everything was great UNTIL we had a complaint about the Torta Birria being so overpowering with cinnamon. We have traveled all over the US with our business and make a point to try a Mexican restaurant in every city we stop in so we are very well versed. The issue primarily was the attitude of the server once we simply asked to exchange it for something else on the menu. Whether she agreed or not isn’t a reason to be completely rude and treat us like we were a bother. I didn’t complain about my tamale dinner that clearly was leftover from the night before or the salsa that should’ve been shook up so it wasn’t separating. Nor did we complain about the fajitas we exchanged the birria for, very over cooked and no flavor. Please look in to improving your customer service since that will kill any and every business. The food quality, well as I’ve noticed in previous reviews you take no accountability so that will continue as it clearly has been. Good luck!!!
