Mona Lisa Cocktails & Cuisine — Restaurant in Imperial

For a restaurant that appears to be up scale. The food was subpar. I have had food from places of great quality in my life, and this place is far from it. For the price of the food at the restaurant, I would have thought it would have been of great quality. I have had better food from Texas Roadhouse. The prefixed menu they had was not what we expected. The appetizer was cold. That right there should have been a clue to leave the restaurant, but it is Valentines Day, and we wanted to see what the main course was going to taste like. When we got our second course, my wife didn't even touch the salad. It looked like it was pulled from the trash and placed on a plate. My soup was subpar, nothing to gloat about. The main course came, and my sea bass was over seasoned, and risotto wasn't cooked right. My wife's main course looked like the size of kids' meals. The dessert tasted like garbage. The dessert was frozen and was freezer burnt. They placed the dessert frozen on a plate and presented it to us. The service isn't much better. The waiter did bare minimum, didnt even ask how the food was, probably because she knew that the food was garbage. If I could give this restaurant zero stars, I would. I do not plan on never coming back anytime soon and if anyone asks how this restaurant is I'll let them know that they would get better quality food and service at a chili's or Applebee's that is down the street before i ever recommend this...

Yesterday was the inauguration of this restaurant that caused me so much expectation. Yesterday I went with my husband and the truth is that all my expectations were exceeded. The place, the decoration, the attention 10/10, the atmosphere, the drinks and not to mention the food that was simply spectacular. I don't know, maybe I was very lucky as one of the cocktails I tried. To start we ordered two drinks, mine is called Get Lucky and my husband ordered Sidecar and we accompanied it with some delicious calamari, the dish is called ... Shanghi Calamari. As a main dish we ordered a hamburger that I don't remember its name but it is the only one on the menu, some pasta that was delicious and is called Funghi Tartufo and we closed with three other delicious cocktails Bella Luna, Paper Plane and Long Island. Went on date night with friends and the staff were super welcoming upon arrival, we did make reservations online since it's fairly new. The atmosphere was very nice, perfect, and inviting. Our server was super accommodating I forgot her name unfortunately! Food we ordered was new York strips, bone in ribeye which were cooked mr and absolutely perfect and seasoned perfectly. Unfortunately I'm pregnant and didn't get the juicy medium rare steaks but got the Stuffed chicken which was okay not as flavored as I'd like but everything else was beyond flavorful and makes me want to come back and try everything! We got super flavorful buttery garlic asparagus as sides and the potato puree which I'm obsessed with now. Lobster mac & cheese you do not want to share because it was so damn good!
