Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in El Centro

I recently had an incredibly disappointing experience at Dairy Queen that I feel compelled to share. I visited just two days after ordering a specific item, only to be told it was no longer available. The new manager on duty was completely unhelpful and showed a shocking lack of willingness to accommodate what should have been a straightforward request.

To make matters worse, when I ordered a different item, it bore no resemblance to the picture on the menu. This blatant disregard for customer satisfaction and the poor attention to detail was appalling. It’s evident that this location is in desperate need of improvement in both customer service and consistency with their menu offerings. On Jan 31, 2025, we came into the El Centro Grill & Chill. It was crowded (especially with teens from schooljust getting out), but the staff were working hard, friendly to everyone, courteous and professional. The dining area was constantly bussed and very clean. Staff actually SMILED at customers!

The bathrooms were immaculate! When we finally got to order, it was done right the first time, the blizzard was FULL (so often now elsewhere they are 1-2" from the top!!), and the onion rings were fantastic. They were my first onion rings at DQ - and now I will go out of my way to go to a DQ for them!! It was worth the 10min drive (one-way) off of I-8 (and passing other fast food places).

I wish all DQs and all fast food places were as great as this DQ location....

The meat in the hamburgers tasted like soy burgers I used to eat in the 70's in school. I was shocked as to how bad they tasted. Where's the beef. Please improve your meat in the burgers. I've had better hamburgers at del Taco. Was very disappointed with the quality. The Blast was amazing and so was the onion rings. Haven't tried the chicken strips yet. I'm going to dine in next time so I can ask the employees if they eat the hamburgers also. Just venting. Thanks for listening....
