I’m not one to leave bad reviews but I am sick of places having terrible customer service and getting away with it, which has been the trend since Covid.

Don’t close your restaurant at earlier times than what is posted on your website and Google. Their hours state they were open until 10. My significant other and I spent time and energy going through the menu, figuring out what we wanted, and then pulling the car over to order carry out at 9:10, only to have them tell us they are closed when they pick up the phone. This killed our dinner plans as we had been returning from a long trip and had planned to eat here given their posted hours.

Unacceptable. Don’t post on your website and on Google hours that you aren’t going to stick too, because people will plan for you to be open only for you to ruin their plans because you felt like closing early that day.

Furthermore, the food is OK. Not top tier, but OK, which calls to question why should one put up with this sort of thing? As someone who had been in the restaurant business for years I can tell you that when management doesn’t adhere to their posted hours, it’s an indicator of the rest of the place not being run well. I can’t trust that from a place that sells raw fish especially. Get it together and make it right, and I’ll gladly take this...

Tried for the first time and it was awesome. Before trying and I read some of the reviews. Obviously I'm in agreement with all of the other 5 stars. Food was fresh, delicious, and portions were sized as expected. We ordered carryout dinner for 4 and the order was prepared perfectly, nothing was left out, there was plenty of Wasabi, ginger, soy for everyone. The staff was very nice, I chatted with a few regular customers during my short wait and the restaurant seemed to have a really nice vibe. If you're reading all their reviews and you read the people that rated Sushi Lover 1 or 2 stars, do your self a favor and read those people's other reviews. Hopefully you come to my conclusion that those people are just chronic complainers. This place is legit. I've had Noble Fish in Clawson, Ronin in Royal Oak, Nippon Kai in Royal oak, and Mon Jin Lay in Troy. Sushi Lover is right up there in quality, flavor, and freshness. We ordered 3 raw rolls, a combo platter, and a couple tempura's. Everything was great, all 4 of us (parents with our 2 kids) though it was awesome! We'll...

This past Valentine’s Day, my husband and I had reserved a table for dinner at 7pm. When we came in, there were many people waiting in line and the phones were ringing off the hook, but the hostesses were handling it all well, and had their emotions under control. It was truly a thing of beauty! We were sitting next to a couple who did not seem to have the best experience and mentioned a long wait time. The owner came out to speak with them and the waitresses took criticism well and with a smile, and continued to provide great service to everyone. We had a lovely dinner: appetizers, sushi, and dessert. All was made with great craftsmanship as normal, despite it being such a hectic holiday rush! We had multiple staff members assist us, all with a smile, which is our normal experience here. In an age where people expect perfection and for things to work out their way, right now, they truly did their best on a night where one of the holiday go-to’s is sushi! We go here often and will continue to do so. They’re just a great place. Oh- and try the Salmon on the Beach, it’s...

Wow!! My boyfriend and I ate here last night and I must say my first time experience was absolutely amazing. You can’t see the inside from the outside because of tinted windows but once you walk inside it’s set up and designed beautifully. We were sat immediately and met with such respectful staff. The atmosphere was so calming. We got California rolls (left), special California rolls (right) and my absolute favorite, spicy crunch California rolls (front). We also got miso soup and a bowl of beef ramen and it was delicious. Im not the biggest sushi fan so when I tried the food I was shocked, it tasted so fresh and I couldn’t wait to eat more. For dessert we got strawberry mochi which was decorated beautifully. I don’t really write reviews but this was a must. The waitresses were so sweet and helpful with any questions I had and the presentation of every meal was outstanding. If you’ve not tried this place, I encourage you to. We were treated so well and I will absolutely be back. Thank you for a wonderful experience! :)

Everything was fresh and flavorful; waitstaff was attentive and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. For appetizer, we ordered the octopus in ponzu and the tuna salad. Really light and seasoned really well. Entree was the sushi and sashimi combo which included 7 pc of sashimi, 7 pc nigiri, and a cali roll. The sashimi and nigiri were absolutely delicious. So tender and fresh. They melted in your mouth. My only issue is they forgot the cali roll and we had to remind them. It came out ultra fast. The special roll was Mt. Osaka. You can probably tell why its named that. It takes at least 3 bites to tackle one roll. While I didn't hate the ingredients, I felt it was more novel and was mostly rice. It isn't something I would order again. Overall, our menu choices is what made me boost our rating from 3 to 4 - we ordered less fried rolls that were doused in mayo. We will be returning.

A few weeks ago I was able to finally try Sushi Lover in Clarkston, Michigan. I went at lunch time on a Friday so it was super fast service and not a lot of people were dining in yet. The food was very good. I ordered the Yum Yum sushi roll, which was absolutely amazing, and beef ramen that had a rich and tasty broth. Definitely both were winners. I'll be sure to visit again and try other things on their menu. @sushilover_clarkston #nofilter #metrodetroit #clarkstonmichigan #foodie #sushi #ramen
