Dining area was clean and comfortable. The woman who waited on me was very curt and in a hurry. Only two customers in the place so she wasn't busy. My first time here because of recommendations on line. I stated it was my first time thinking maybe she would smile and treat me like a paying customer. Nope. Treated like I was taking up her time. The Won Ton soup was so salty, I couldn't eat the broth. Just ate the won tons and greens that were in it. Never had dumplings like the ones served there. The meat inside had a spoiled taste so I didn't finish them. She was so rude that I didn't dare ask about them. Just took them home and threw them in the garbage. Wasn't sure if they would serve them again. I wish I could find a Chinese restaurant that used "good" chicken for the Almond Boneless Chicken. So tired of getting a piece of chicken in my mouth and you can't even chew it! The best part of the meal was the gravy that was on the ABC. So I asked for a serving of fried rice and a cup of the gravy. Took the meal home and scraped the rice and gravy off the chicken. Threw the chicken away and just ate the rice & gravy. Drove about 15 miles out of my way because the reviews were good. Maybe they are ordering something other then ABC and pan fried dumplings. I did leave a tip because I fell like I have to, but it was NOT 20%. Lady should quit that job if she dislikes people that much. I will say the gentlemen at the desk in front was very friendly and welcoming. I wanted so bad to...
Read moreI used to like this place, but today, the waitress gave me a hard time because I asked for steamed dumplings. Only fried dumplings were on their menu, so I asked her if they could make them steamed. This was in addition to the wonton soup I ordered. She made a face and then told me that the soup would already have them. I replied that I understood, but would like extra. She then went on for about how I wouldn't like them steamed.
She was pretty loud and condescending the entire time, and I could tell that the other customers were listening. It was quite embarrassing to have someone try to dictate what I should and shouldn't get--and it was not as though she said that, from a cooking standpoint, they would have problems making them: she made an assumption about me.
After some more back-and-forth, she took downy order. Needless to say, I thought everything was fine..That is, until a second women from the kitchen came out. Once again, I met with a weird challenge about the dumplings. I lost patience and told her to forget it. I left.
I never experienced such obnoxiously weird treatment before. I used to patronize this place quote a bit, but I shan't be back. Wing Lauk is an option, not a Mandate. In this shaky economy, they should be happy that anyone wants...
Read moreThe singapore noodle dish - which is overpriced at $16.45 - was dry and not very tasty at all. The service was very slow with particularly us, as opposed to the other tables. We were charged extra for everything we wanted. A meal for 2 was $37 without tip! We even asked our server for straws, and she gave us thin cocktail straws! She also had the nerve to ask about our personal lives! I am a 27-year-old woman, and my aunt is 72 and suffers with Alzheimer's. My aunt looks much older than she actually is, and a few people have even mistaken her as an old man. The waitress asked, "Do you two live together?" I said, "Yes, this is my aunt." A waitress has NEVER asked me about the relationship I have with my aunt, in terms of living. Most people refer to her as my grandma, but I found it rather offensive to be asked, "Do you two live together?" I will not be returning to this place. Eastern Pearl down the street is...
