Eating there today. After ordering I noticed a less fortunate young guy sitting with no food when my order was called. I walked over and quietly asked are you hungry would you like something. He said yes I'm starving thanks so much. I said go ahead and order and I'll pay. There was a large older lady behind the counter doing pretty much nothing. I said this gentleman is going to order his lunch and I would like to pay for it. She said that lady can take your order. I said iv orderd and this is my food going cold. This gentleman will wait in the line I just want you guys to know I'll pay. She said sure you can wait in line. I said here's my card can you just pass it to her and let her know. She said no she can help just wait in that line i told you. Funny how she didn't seem to care but kept doing nothing and only 1 register open with a line with 10 people waiting.
So she knew I just wanted to sit and eat my food. She didn't seem keen on me paying for the less fortunate guys lunch and couldn't have been any ruder about the entire deal.
Hamburger tots and drink $15.
I think I'll go elsware after being treated like a pig. I can spend my money anywhere and in a situation like this generally someone would be kind knowing your trying to be kind to someone. Read moreIt had been a very long time, since I was a kid, that I had tried Big Boy. I was mostly impressed by the price, portion size, and freshness/hotness of the food. A lot of these hole in the wall mom & pop burger place tend to be pricey, but Big Boy's price is right in line with the competition and it's portion sizes make the price feel even more worth it.
I really only have one critique and one complaint that brings the score down to 4 stars. The burger meat (while great quality, cooked well, and hot), was rather bland. The fries, however (while hot), tasted like they had been fried in old oil. This is a problem I've noticed at Burger King and Sonic some times as well. The fries will taste sort of off and I can only conclude it's from using old oil or not cleaning the fryer properly.
I will say the hilight for me was the onion rings. They were thick, crispy, and savory. The only sweetness comes from the onion and not the batter, which I prefer. So many places have that almost county fair funnel cake tasting batter, and these have more of a zesty taste to them. It almost tastes like they took crispy onion straw crumbs and put them in the batter.
I didn't try a shake, but I'll have to give one a try sometime, maybe that tenderloin sandwich they seem to be very...
Read moreThis place is one of the best kept secrets in town. All the locals love it! I've decided to rate this place even though I haven't eaten here yet. I'm qualified to do so because I'm a Dasher and have done over 7,500 dashes. I have been to this place many times and until yesterday never really noticed much about it. I thought okay it's just another one of those fast food places....NOT!!! The first thing I noticed was how well-organized they were and how friendly the staff was. I saw one of the women filling an onion ring order and I couldn't believe what I was seeing. She had a regular bag that you'd have for onion rings but she kept putting more and more and more on top of it until it was overflowing and then she put it in the bag. I thought wow these people are not skimpy on their portions. When I dropped the food off to my customer she said that she's been going there for years and that their food is delicious and the staff is always very friendly and the prices are reasonable. The portions are always exemplary. So if you're looking for some food that's delicious and you want to get your money's worth along with a very nice clean efficient staff I would definitely recommend this place. Like I said I haven't eaten there yet but I'm...
