Back in March of 2025, I bought some items at Burlington. Later, I was looking at the receipt and realized they charged me twice for the same pair of shoes! I called to find out what the process was for refunds. I was told just bring in the receipt. I said, "Okay, and where do I go?" The woman on the other end rudely said, "What do you mean where do you go? You go to Burlington!" I know dealing with the public can be hard, so I didn't call her the name I felt like calling her. I simply explained Walmart returns were done by Customer Service. She said no, I would have to wait in line. A few weeks later, I went back to the store with my receipt. A ridiculous fiasco ensued. The cashier said she could not refund my money, because then her drawer would be short. NOT MY PROBLEM. The security guard and 2 other cashier's kept chiming in, but nobody knew what to do. There was no manager on duty. Are you freaking kidding me? In the meantime, the alarm went off as some kid put candy in his pocket... They had to call the manager whose name was Leigh. I was told I had to come back into the store so they could review the security footage to make sure it was me. Absolutely asinine. I had the receipt. I had photo id. I had the card I used to pay for the products. I was pretty angry at this point. They took my name and number and said Leigh would call me. Naturally, she never did. A few weeks later, I called corporate. I gave them all the details only to be told my call would be returned by the department that handles such things. Apparently, that is an imaginary department as nobody called from them either. At my wit's end, I called my bank. The bank did their investigation and determined I was indeed charged twice for the same product. The bank refunded my money and apologized for the inconvenience. It is Burlington who should be apologizing, not my bank. My bank is the only place that helped me! I hope Burlington at least has to reimburse them. To this day, I have never heard from anyone at Burlington. Abhorrent customer service. If you are going to leave employees on duty with no manager, at least make sure they are trained in various scenarios that coukd happen, such as mine. Also, Burlington should fire the security guard. Instead, just ring up the same product numerous times on all the customers and refuse to refund the money. They would come out ahead. Needless to say, I will NEVER shop at this pathetic store again. Maybe they should ask Walmart for help, as I have never had an issue returning products there. If you live in Independence, try Gabes. They are a similar store, but have more products and there is a Dollar...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm so mad!!!!!!!!!! I bought my son a christmas gift and it didn't fit. They would not take my purchase back stating it was not on the receipt. I only went to Burlington one time so I only have one receipt. The price tag was torn on the package that I had purchased. They and I can only assume that the clerk rang something else up since the tag was torn on what I was buying. They did not have another package like what I purchased. I was willing to exchange for the correct size but of course they did not have XL. This not only took over an hour and made me late getting back to work I left with the wrong size because they wouldn't exchange nor refund. The day I made my purchases it was busy due to being just before Christmas. Lesson learned if you shop there which I won't anymore, if they are busy you will need to hold up the line and check every item on your ticket to make sure their employee rang everything up correctly in case you would need to return the item. So aggravating and a waste of my time and money which I don't have extra to throw away. I wound up giving my purchase to a co worker who said that her son would fit the item. Again I am not wealthy by any means in fact poor would be a better description! Thanks to Burlington I threw money away that I did not have extra. Single Mom trying to afford Christmas and make ends meet. They lost a good customer when they lost me. I'm honest and pay my bills. Eventually they will only have the dishonest customers left. Then out of business. Can't say I will cry when that happens!!!!!!!!!! Shop there at your own risk!! I will not spend money at a business that steals from me! Or hires...
