Ridgewood Donuts — Restaurant in Kansas City

I visit in the area about four times a year and this is a review from a 1st time customer: Greeted as soon as I stepped in. I had to get up early this beautiful Saturday morning because when I was arriving home at 2a.m I could see the wonderful donuts baker's working. My great idea is to go early, the display case was fully stocked my families order included culler, key lime filled, raspberry filled, chocolate cake w/icing, and of course who doesn't like a great glazed donuts😊 I believe it was the owner that checked me out, he explained to me that for my 1st time I had to try their delicious Apple fritter, and proceed to bag me one up at no additional charge. I miss the Ridgewood Donuts of old. This place used to be famous and the place to go in this part of town for donuts. I went in there at 9:30 on Sunday morning and they were out of donuts. Really!. I don't know if there's new owners or what the deal is but no Donuts at 9:30 on a Sunday morning. I hate to say it but I'm going to have to find another donut shop. It's the end of an era for me. my daughter grew up in this neighborhood and we all loved Ridgewood Donuts. A little pricey, but pretty good donuts. Every time I go in here I'm the only customer. Which is strange but I like the fact that there isn't a line! They have really yummy Danishes but I suspect that they aren't made there... And they want 5 bucks a piece for the danishes, which is insane. Honestly, you're better off going to doughboys off 63rd and woodson. Very sweet ladies and incredible apple fritters, but I strongly advise that you call them a day in advance to place your order, they are always selling out of every kind of doughnut they offer.
