Erin's Pub — Restaurant in Independence

My family and I have gone here for years. Free Pool? I asked 'next' on one of the pool tables tables so my son and I could play a game I was told 'yes'. 'Red Beard' said yes. Then when it came time he got beligerent. We didn't get to play the one game we asked for. The staff on duty wasn't helpful. So much for 'Free Pool'. ... Things have really changed at Erin's over the years. Different people, different staff, different feel. ... There's more to the story, but I'm not going to demean Erin's because of the change in attitude of some on the newer customers. ... They took down my comments from their FB page: This content isn't available right now When this happens, it's usually because the owner only shared it with a small group of people, changed who can see it or it's been deleted. ... Hmmm..... How did the manager knew the young girl at the table was 'Red Beard's' daughter? She asked him if he wanted her to see him behave like that. Did she know him? ... Many people said he was in the wrong, but...

Came in Fri afternoon about 5:20 p.m. -- place not busy; sat at a table, no one waited on me; moved to another bar/counter area and no one waited on me, although others were being waited on. I finally went to the bar tender to order a beer. My two friends came in, same thing, no one waited on us, they had to go to the bar to get a drink. Finally, we wanted to order food, a patron went to the bar to see if a waitress could come over (place not busy), waitress came and took out order, and never came back, finally after our drinks were empty, food (very good!) finished and sat there for 20 minutes, waitress came by and we asked for a to go container. She brought it. Did not ask if we wanted more drinks. We sat there another 20 minutes, no one came, and finally we waved at the bar tender -- 'to get our checks'. It's a bar, so don't expect fancy. But it was comfortable and cozy. My friend and I met there for a late lunch on a Saturday, and we were able to get a table with no problem. Not so loud at that time of day that we didn't have to shout to each other to talk. The food was good. The waitress was friendly and attentive. Prices were good. I got the chicken quesadillas (plenty big plate) and a margarita, and my tab was $16.25. No, I did not go there at the busy time of day, so I don't know what kind of crowd would be there otherwise, but that's what we planned...a nice, cozy, comfortable place with good food, good drinks, no unruly children, where we could could catch up.
