Dale's Smokehouse — Restaurant in Indian Head

For many years Dale's has been my favorite place for bbq. We moved to St. Marys so it has been a while since our last visit. For Mother's day, I really wanted a sliced pork meal from Dale's so we made the hour drive only to be very disappointed. Let me say that the service is always great. The employees are friendly and welcoming. The sauce is still amazing. My sides were so over spiced that I couldn't even eat them. My green beans were so full of pepper and red pepper flakes that just 1 bite had my mouth on fire. Their Mac and cheese was the exact same way. When they started putting red pepper in their Mac and cheese I don't know but it's terrible and I wish they would go back to the original recipe. This is my first time getting carryout here since the beginning of the pandemic, and I don't plan on going back. I am all for supporting small businesses, but I will no longer support this one. When I went in to pick up my food, only one person there was wearing a mask. They were all handling my food. Sorry, this does not make me feel comfortable or safe. This last thing I want is to have complete maskless strangers handling and breathing all over my food. Be a part of the solution, not a part of the problem! I'd not been here for a couple of years now. What, with the pandemic and all, just haven't had the urge. That changed today and I dropped in to see how they're doing, ordered a BBQ sandwich to go. BTW, the staff was great. Polite with no waiting, and the sandwich was served up to go very quickly. Got home and amazed at the size/amount on the sandwich buns; made more of a dinner vice lunch.
