I was not impressed with this restaurant. While we waited for our food, I couldn't help but notice the cook with a beard, and I thought, isn't he supposed to have a hair net? I asked my girlfriend, who used to work in the industry, and she said absolutely. Well, guess who ended up with hair in their gravy and biscuits? Yes, that would be me. The boy working there wasn't any better when it came to resolving the issue. If he put his hand over his mouth once, he did it fifty times while chatting with the girl at the counter instead of working and earning his paycheck. Not only did he constantly put his hand over his mouth as they talked, but he was also always running his fingers through his hair as though he were a model or something. The food wasn't much to talk about, either. A miniature cup of apple juice was $1.99. Wow, talk about inflation. Also our waitress never came back to our table one time after taking our order to see if we needed anything.
For those who don't know about the sanitary side of the business, here's a relevant section from the Indiana code:
Authority: IC 16-42-5-5 Affected: IC 16-42-5
Sec. 138.
(a) Except as provided in subsection (b), food employees shall wear hair restraints, such as hats, hair coverings or nets, beard restraints, and clothing that covers body hair, that are designed and worn to effectively keep their hair from contacting: (1) exposed food; (2) clean equipment, utensils, and linens; and (3) unwrapped single-service and single-use articles.
I hope the management takes note of these regulations to improve their hygiene standards and...
Read moreToday was a 3 star. Normally it's 5 star. Good little place we frequent because it's fast and my gal can get back to work quickly. Not today. Took 45 minutes to get our food and normally there'sone guy back there cooking. Today, there's 2 guys in the kitchen. It seemed he cooked each order as it came in to entirety and then started on the next order. I would think a skilled line cook would be able to multi-task and have a few orders going at one time. Ordered my eggs over medium and they came out over hard. 45 minute wait time for it not to be right is unacceptable.
Young couple comes in with a "service dog", that's totally fine, however, they call the dog up into the booth seat to sit next to them, pretty odd if you ask me. An elderly gentleman expressed his feelings to the staff and it somehow made it back to the couple. The young man with the "service dog" goes outside to his car and passes the elderly man and obviously they exchange words. The young gentleman comes back in and tells the young lady, he is with, that he confronted the elderly man. All in all, a service dog is fine, but nowhere does it say in the Health code that a dog can sit at the table, in a booth or a chair with the dogs owner!! They must lie on the floor, next to or under the table. I think you may have just lost two regulars, the elderly couple and most likely...
Read moreI usually don’t blast to much on here. But truly I have nothing good to say about this restaurant. This was our second time trying them out and it was worst than the first. They seated us quickly, took our orders got us our drinks and we didn’t see a server again for an hour, did not check on our drinks didn’t say sorry for the wait nothing. We waited an hour and a half for our food which was 😒 meh at best. As we went to pay for our meal the wait staff was discussing a table that was asking about their food taking so long to which a waitress said in front of customers” they can leave for all I care” me being who I am told her that was a horrible attitude to have and that what she said was horrible business practices. You should always care for your customers, let them know hey we are short staffed and we apologize for the inconvenience, but to be as rude as to say what she did says she doesn’t care for her lively hood, she doesn’t care if they come back. I for one will never come to this establishment again. It wasn’t the wait or the slow service due to being short handed, it was the comment that she made. If you do not care for the customers I do not care for the establishment. #badattitude...
