Overview: Tumbleweed is a local restaurant that many of us love. I don't know what has happened to this Highlander Point location over the years. I went to eat at this location yesterday because my daughter wanted to go for her birthday. This was the first time I had visited in about a year due to my previous experience.
There was not wait and we were seated quickly. Our drink order was taken fairly quickly along with a order for queso. It took approximately 10 minutes for our drinks to come out. We ordered when the drinks came. I asked for more chips, salsa and for 2 straws at this time. It took another 10 minutes or so to get more chips. We were advised at this time they were short staffed, which is the same thing I have been told in the past. It took over an hour to get our food from the time of ordering!
Food: The food was fine, no issues but it is just average at best. The only good thing about the visit was that we had a 30% coupon. With that said the will was $30 before tip for 2 kids and 2 adults. With the hour wait to get our food my kids just wanted to go home instead of having the ice cream that was to come with their food.
Service: The service is just not good. Thinking about the past few years, there are more times were service is bad than good. When I say service, this includes the time it takes to get food to the table.
Conclusion: Food is average at best. Service (including time to get food to the table) was terrible and I have had this experience in the past. Food is over prices for what it is and given the service. Tumbleweed is NOT on my list of restaurants that I visit. If you want Mexican or tex/mex food, you are better off visiting one of the local Mexican...
Read moreWe were told upon arrival that there was a wait of 15-20 minutes, so we decided to wait along with 2 couples and 1 group of 3 people that were ahead of us. In that 15-20 minutes we counted 5 groups walk out after eating. 25 minutes later, the 3 groups that were ahead of us were finally seated. 43 minutes total later, we were finally seated by 2 giggling little girls who couldn't figure out where to seat us in the 30 tables they had open. We walked past 6 empty 2 seat booths and 3 larger booths. These tables were not just cleaned as if they were just used by previous customers. The restaurant was not busy at all; you could almost hear a pin drop bc it was so quiet. No one was seated at the bar and the bar tender leaning against the bar doing absolutely nothing except wipe down a bar that had not been used. There were also 2 other waitresses hanging around the kitchen chatting up a storm, again, bc they were not busy at all. 10 minutes after being seated our waitress finally comes and gets drink order. 8 minutes later we were finally brought our water. Within that time a waitress was on a break, I assume, bc you couldn't realy tell who was on the clock or not bc they were all doing the same thing. Nothing. She put in her food order, after we sat down, with the same waitress and by the time we got our water, she had her food. After an hour of being told there was only a 15-20 minute wait we left with only getting water. She never came back to get our order. This place was the worst tumbleweed experience we've ever had. We will...
Read moreDO NOT GO HERE. First off, we waited an extended amount of time for our food. Then, we got our food and that was literally the last time we saw our waitress. Out of 6 of us, 2 dishes were BAD. My fiance ordered the steak tacos. She wasn't asked how she wanted the meat cooked. There was still blood coming out of the meat and it somehow looked dry at the same time. She didn't take one bite of the tacos because they just looked unconsumable. Her mother got a wrap and fries. The fries were cold. Not even room temp. The meat in her wrap was cold. The manager finally came to check on us after we were well done with what we could eat. We told her that our waitress didn't check on us at all after our food was brought out. Then told her the issues with the food. She had mentioned that the waitress was busy with a large party which is why she came to check on us herself. She acknowledged that the tacos were not up too par at all with how they should've come out and she did not charge us for the dish. She also applied a discount to the bill for the wrap entree. Last but not least, the mens' restroom was atrocious. Save yourself and go somewhere else. Even if it is Papa John's...
