Starting with the food: This place and Acapulco over in Newburgh tie for best flavor. I like the salsa here better. Queso is on point. The ground beef is seasoned well, but they could do a better job draining it. There's always a ton of liquid (even more so than most Mexican restaurants) with the ground beef dishes. I hate when my taco salad becomes a soggy mess. Grilled chicken has a great flavor. Another thing that could be better is that that don't put shredded cheese on many dishes that would traditionally (for tex-mex) have it. So, no cheese on the taco salad and my husband gets grilled chicken tacos, but only likes shredded cheese on them so that's an upcharge here. Glad that they have Coke products. This is my favorite mexican in town right now. I take every one here we even had a work lunch and they made me pick. I normally get the fajitas carnitas nachos. Sometimes when it's just me I get just meat, chips and cheese. Others I share with the hubs and we get all the veggies too. This trip I was with a friend and my son. My son got the burrito gigantico. Pictured and it was stuffed with steak, chicken, shrimp, lettuce, rice and beans. Then smothered in cheese dip. It was enough for 2-3 meals. I pf course got my carnitas nachos and the meat is so tender. So deliciously seasoned. They put both shredded white cheese a d queso on it. Somehow the chips stay crisp even under the food. Was not happy with Fajitas, meat and shrimp was over cooked and was told " that's how the Fajitas are and next time don't order again "" the owner was angry when he said it. Honestly we still paid for the meal eventhough he was very rude, so he does not have to worry about me ordering again because I won't be going back and this place is no different from any other mexican catina/ grill and passed several of them before you get to this one.Not sure if he is aware this just another one to add to the long list of mexican restaurants to choose from.
