Los Tres Caminos — Restaurant in Indiana

Always a good time at Los Tres Caminos. I was seated quickly and shortly thereafter chips and salsa were on my table. The salsa was fresh and the chips had that signature crunch that lets you know that something wonderful and authentic is taking place. On this visit, I decided to go with Tbone with the special ranchero sauce. It arrived with rice, beans, and flour tortillas. When I say this steak was delicious, I mean this steak was delicious. I nearly ordered another right then and there. My pleasure centers became a little overwhelmed there for a moment. Thankfully. I was able to reel it in. The atmosphere was good. I saw some dads talking strategies about their little ones next football game. At the next table over some teachers were having a midweek margaritas. It used to be a really good Mexican place.. Haven't been there for a couple years and stopped in today for lunch. Was somewhat disappointed as the quality of food was still pretty good, but the service had gone downhill quite a bit. Damn near took a miracle to place our order. Food arrived pretty quick, and that was about the last time to see our waiter. No one checked on us after that. Had to chase down one of the girls who was bussing tables to refill our drinks, and then she refilled it wrong. Never did get a check. Had to go to the cashier who chased down the check, this probably took another 6-7 minutes. So we were not real impressed. And it wasn't because they were short handed. There were at least 6 workers that we saw. Drinks are way over priced for softball...

This place is well-regarded. The staff are fast and friendly. Their food is exquisite. My mom does not like cilantro so the waiter helped her with her order and even brought some hand-mashed, yet chunky avocado. I always walk away with a smile. Another time we came in right before closing to pick up a to-do order. There a young lady and her son waiting in one of the booths, so I presume she was with one of the staff or owners, but she saw my kids eyeing the candy near the registers. I was paying for our food and she had her son offer them some candy, with a quick look for my approval. Even friends and family of the place are warm...
