I am absolutely incensed after my visit to the McDonald’s on Illinois Road in Fort Wayne. This wasn’t just a letdown; it was a catastrophic failure on every conceivable level. I’ve had disappointing fast food experiences before, but this was a masterclass in how to infuriate a customer beyond belief.
Let’s start with the ranch sauce for my fries - a simple, paid-for request that would require minimal effort to fulfill. Yet, this McDonald’s managed to botch it. The audacity to overlook an item I specifically paid extra for is not just negligent; it’s a blatant disregard for the value of my money and the essence of customer service. This wasn’t an oversight; it felt like a deliberate insult.
But the real kicker, the absolute pinnacle of this nightmarish experience, was the so-called “double” quarter pounder that turned out to be a measly single patty. This isn’t just incompetence; it’s a flagrant deception. I paid for a double quarter pounder, not a sad, single patty that looked as if it had given up on life. The difference between a single and a double is elementary, yet somehow, this McDonald’s managed to fail at basic arithmetic.
What’s most infuriating is the blatant disrespect for customers. This wasn’t a minor mistake; it was a series of calculated blunders that showcased a profound level of incompetence and apathy. It’s clear that the staff and management at this location have no interest in upholding the standards of the McDonald’s brand or in providing a satisfactory customer experience.
The sheer audacity of McDonald’s on Illinois Road to botch an order so spectacularly and then expect no repercussions is a testament to their utter disdain for customer satisfaction. This experience has not only robbed me of my money but also of my time and the basic respect I thought I was entitled to as a customer.
I am beyond outraged. This McDonald’s is a disgrace to the brand, a black hole where customer service and satisfaction go to die. They should be ashamed of themselves for running such a shambolic operation. I will make sure to warn everyone I know about this location’s complete and utter failure to perform even the most basic tasks expected of a fast food restaurant. Avoid this McDonald’s at all costs unless you’re looking for a masterclass in disappointment...
Read moreDo yourself a favor and bypass this McDonald's. If not because of my review, then look at the myriad of horrible reviews this location has received. They're an utter mess! The food I received was actually right, but it was nuggets, fries, and a drink, so that'd be pretty hard to mess up. That said, the lady they have taking orders and then running the first window when you pull up needs fired. In all my years of interacting with people at fast food drive thru businesses, I've never had someone be as rude as the lady I encountered today. It wasn't just me thinking that, either. My niece was in the vehicle in front of me, and when we talked shortly after leaving McDonalds, she shared how awful and rude the lady in question was. To boot, my nieces order wasn't right. In all fairness, there is one small positive. When I pulled up to the window to get my food, I immediately told the young man about how rude the lady I just dealt with was. He immediately apologized. Several times, in fact. It wasn't his fault she was so nasty, and yet he apologized. That was appreciated, although the damage was done. Clearly, covid affected this world in many ways. I think one of the industries to suffer is the fast food business. They either can't find people to work or hire people who literally don't care about the service they give. This McDonald's definitely proves that point of view. Don't believe me? Scroll through and read the reviews. I wouldn't stop back at this McDonalds again if it were the last one in Fort Wayne. It's obvious that management can't or won't control their employees, and the standards here are...
Read moreAbsolutely embarrassing experience. ALWYA CHECK YOUR FOOD AND MAKE SURE YOU GET A RECIEPT. We went through the drive through and ordered a quarter pounder bacon and number five both large. At the window we were told we ordered a double, when asked if it was a double and told that is not what we ordered. Paid more than what we should have. Checked food before driving off and thank god we did. Both large fries were cold, the quarter pounder bacon was a double with no bacon but marked as a double with bacon Already wrong.(How do you even manage that?) We went inside and told them we had cold fries and the sandwich was wrong. We requested hot fries and the correct burger. Waited at most ten minutes, fries came out mediocrely warm, not even hot, and the sandwich was still wrong. Asked for it to be remade again and it was finally right. The entire time we can hear the staff b*tching and complaining about people needing the correct food. Quote from one of the crew members: “I don’t have time for this”. There was a short if not no long during this time. No one else was in the lobby. We could also hear them miscounting other peoples orders, including nuggets. The only helpful person was the guy at the counter who repeated our order numerous times to the other people remaking...
