Oh Panera in Terre Haute.
How do I count the ways I love thee?
First of all, our seven year old would eat the mac and cheese every day if allowed. It's creamy and delicious and always piping hot. A winner for any picky eater. (No, my child is not picky, the mac and cheese is just that good.)
As a vegetarian, there aren't a ton of options available... However, thank my lucky stars, Panera in Terre Haute.... You happily leave off any animal protein in my favorite salad (Citrus Asian Crunch) and you also have a Mediterranean Veggie Sandwich that is punch someone in the face delicious.
The time an employee takes to delicately place the feta, the hummus, the peppadew peppers... a true work of art to make any veggie lover's tummy rumble with excitement and rapture.
The bakery items are always baked to perfection. Pumpkin Muffins and Chocolate Muffies are a huge hit with our family, and they're ALWAYS good.
Breakfast sandwiches are another hit for us. The bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on a brioche bun is a go-to for my kid, while I rather enjoy a gooey egg spilling over the sides of a (modified) Egg White + Spinach sandwich. (I sub the normal bread for an Everything Bagel. Do it, you won't be disappointed.)
The bevvies are always chilly and coffee hot.
The employees are attentive, kind, and interact with my kids each time we come in.
In closing, oh Panera in Terre Haute, I thank you for your hours spent overnight baking delicious treats and pastries. I thank you for your delicious options that are anything but a burger and fries. I thank you for loving me, thank you for being there.
Have a super day, and go to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFood was great. Had 1/2 sandwich and 1/2 salad. Excellent. Also have great pastries. Staff is not so great. Guy taking my order input it incorrectly and, if he didn't read it back, i would have gotten the wrong sandwich. He upsold a "chocolate pastry" and i said "no" but it ended up on the receipt anyway and I'm out $.99 for a pastry I didn't get. Then -during the payment process - the credit card machine asked if I wanted to "give the crew a tip" or something like that. The cashier pointed it out so I could answer by tapping $1, $2 ... or "no" - a tip? For what? I have to fill my own drink while holding a "pager block" that annoyingly vibrated and flashed to let me know my food was ready for me to go pick up at the counter. And they automatically ask for a tip? (and a cash tip jar was available as well!) Hey Panera, pay you own employees or have them bring me the food - I tip for good service not because I feel sorry for moody teanagers. Also, the clientele of the place seems somewhat upscale - you know, healthy relatively expensive food. But boy are they rude. I got pushed aside while i was trying to decide what "artisanal" tea or fresca I wanted. The guy actually brushed past me to step in front.
But the food and drinks are good and they have a lot of fresh healthy choices to along with all the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFood is decent but facilities and service is very lacking. I frequent this Panera multiple times a quarter as I travel through Indiana. This is one of the slowest Paneras I have ever visited. This visit, I ordered ahead via the app. Food took an additional 15 minutes after the pick up time to be ready. They were busy, so I get it. I ordered a coffee. There was no coffee in any of the containers. I notified staff, who stated they would get to it eventually. 40 minutes later, no one had even started brewing coffee. By this time the rush had died down. Two other individuals were also waiting for coffee. I gave up and left. Hope the other two eventually got what they wanted.
Bathrooms are not maintained and usually something is broken. My last two visits the bathroom door has been broken and unable to be closed. At least this time the TP holder didn't fall off as I grabbed toilet paper, so...
