Low-key Cinco de Mayo? Go for authentic Mexican place. Menu is almost entirely in Spanish, but the waitress spoke almost accent-less English, so it's not hard to order regardless of not remembering much from high school Spanish class. :-P Expect entrees to run about $8-12, for the two of us it was about $15/each, but we also ate like happy pigs. Service was great, never had to ask for anything, food was definitely good.
Chips, salsa and guacamole all made from scratch, in-house - guacamole is thick, slightly chunky and full of ingredients beyond avocados. Carne asada arrachera came with whole green onions, cactus, jalapeno pepper charred, rice, beans, the standard lettuce tomato salad, crema, the cheese on the beans was queso fresco. Enchiladas are lovely, apparently the red sauce is too hot for a "basic white girl" palette, but probably great for the rest of us. The tacos are spectacular, the tortillas are charred, chicken is fresh, covered in queso fresco. We didn't get any drinks other than water, but the various fruity drinks looked intriguing...

Then at that time we had to call the ambulance cause my husband got sick and by the way just because we were treated rude and disrespected, we still paid for our food and by the way whe we asked to speak to the manager she said that there was no manager just the owner and she couldn't get hold of the owner, supposedly and she stated that when the owner comes, that they are only there for 5 minutes and leaves whenever they do come. I don't recommend this place at all anymore, it used to be one of our favorite...
Read moreNormally very nice people here. Today I went for tacos. The sign outside said Wednesday tacos asada are $1.50ea. I ordered them and the bill seemed very high. When I got the receipt they were $3 each. I asked her about the âspecialâ sign outside and she said thatâs for chicken taco only. I said the sign said asada and then she got very snotty. She said she didnât care what the sign said. Asada tacos are no longer on sale. So I asked for a refund and she gave it to me, still snotty but kept the $3 sales tax. She made me explain the math to get the sales tax, and was belligerent about that too. Finally she said she would give me $2 more for tax. I didnât argue about the last $1.25 still owed. I asked for her name and she said Joselle even though the receipt said her name was Christina. Was she lying? I asked for managers name who wasnât there. She said aracelia and âcomplain as much as I wantâ. So...
