La Costeñita 2 — Restaurant in Indianapolis

I enjoyed an excellent dinner at La Costeñita 2 on 12/12/24… the free chips and salsa were delicious and warm, and my fish ceviche appetizer was amazing, if unexpected (I was expecting flaked white fish in lime juice, but this was a firmer fish, almost like swordfish, cut into small strips in a tangy marinade. I’ll definitely order it again.) The standout dish, though, was the carnitas plate… tender chunks of pork slow-cooked in a flavorful tomatillo sauce with onions. A must-try!

We came to eat here because the food is really good, but the girl who attended us had a very rude and disrespectful attitude. We ordered to dine in, but the AC was either off or not working—it was extremely hot inside the restaurant, making it impossible to enjoy our meal.

When we mentioned it to her, she seemed annoyed and said she couldn’t do anything about it, but would “try” to lower it. Honestly, if this restaurant offered better customer service, it would be full. The food is delicious, but the staff’s attitude—especially hers—is unwelcoming...

We recently visited and we liked the food, but I want to flag something that bothered us. We were a party of 4 (3 adults and a toddler), but a 15% auto-gratuity was added to our bill, even though their own policy says it’s only for parties of 6 or more. No one mentioned it, and we didn’t notice, so we tipped another 20% on top.

We ended up going back once we realized, and they refunded us, which we appreciate. But still, we shouldn’t have had to catch that ourselves. It felt misleading, and I’d recommend checking your receipt closely before...
