I've liked the service I had here, and I personally like how Church's does fried chicken đ (even if I dislike fried chicken in general đ€Ș.)
As far as being filling for the prices... the menu generally gets you about 200 calories per $1 spent. That'll get you about a day's worth of calories (2000 calories) for $10, and is a reasonable price for prepared food (ie, okay price compared to avg stuff at avg fast food place.)
Most of the sides are closer to 100 calories per $1 spent, which is rather expensive.
And when it comes to mashed potatoes at this store, they're charging $4.69 for 320 calories worth of a large order; and $2.69 for a 110 calorie regular order of mashed potatoes.
That means it would cost someone $29.31 to get a day's calories in buying large orders of mashed potatoes and gravy; or $48.91 to get enough calories for a day, when buying regular orders of mashed potatoes.
I assume this particular store didn't put a lot of thought in how much they're charging for mashed potatoes (I don't think prices are identically fixed at all Church's locations.) Even when both KFC and Church's both already seem to usually charge almost outrageously high prices for mashed potatoes... given potatoes are competitive with the cheapest base ingredients there are, calorie-wise (ie, potatoes are reasonably cheap, even when compared to like corn/maize, rice, wheat, refined sugar/HFCS, vegetable oils from plants grown for calorie efficient land...
Read moreI went to the Churches Chicken on Westland in Indianapolis today to order my food at the drive thru. As I approached the cashier's window, I put my mask on to protect myself and them, and I waited to pay for my food. I handed my card to the cashier and saw that she nor her trainee were wearing masks. I paid for my food, but didn't feel good about the situation. Eventually, I caught the eye of another employee and expressed my concerns and asked them to wear mask. By the time the food arrived, I told them that I did not feel comfortable eating food from this restaurant where customers had their mask down to talk as they ordered food and 2 of the 4 people were NOT wearing mask.
I asked them to credit my account and refused to take the food. They asked for my receipt and said they needed to keep the receipt and refused to return my receipt. Saying that I would see a credit to my account in 5- 7 business days. I refused to leave until they have me back my receipt. After a few choice words and waiting in the line which seemed like forever, they returned with my receipt.
Be careful where you spend your hard earned cash!!!!
Everyone needs to be wearing a mask in a place of business--to cover both your nose & mouth. No mask, you won't be getting...
