I am reporting unethical behavior by a Franchisee. I ordered a Recess Blizzard Cake online three days in advance of when it was to be picked up. I was personally unable to pick up the cake, so I had my sister do so for me. When I finally saw the cake I was disappointed (the pictures are below), the cake looked nothing like the photo online. When I called the store manager (named Haley) to express my dissatisfaction, she stated, "The cake looks like it does online." I went on to explain that it looks nothing like the online picture and that it looked awful, so much so that I wanted a replacement cake or a full refund for the uneaten cake. Haley went on to tell me that she was unable to process a refund for the cake without the owner's permission since it was a Blizzard cake. I asked her to call the owner and get back to me. When I spoke back to Haley, she informed me that the owner said if I returned the cake I could only have a $5 refund for an uneaten cake that cost me $34.99 or I could go back to the store across town and they would add some decorations to the cake I already purchased. I found the answer from the owner to be incredulous. When I asked for the number to call the owner myself, she stated that she was unable to provide his personal information (which I can understand). So I then asked if she could call him while I was on the phone to which she stated, "no." Then I asked if she could call him on the store phone upon me returning the uneaten cake, so he could tell me why I could not have a full refund for an uneaten and untouched cake. To this, she replied that it would be unprofessional for her to call the owner while I was in the store. Read moreI’ve been a customer of this location for 4 years. On one occasion & it will be my last visit due to a teenage manager who had no business being in that postiion. The customer service I received was horrible. I purchased a peanut buster parfait. This is served with salty peanuts but on this occasion it tasted like salt was literally poored into it. After one bite, I spit it out & drive back up there & spoke to the Mgr thru the drive thru window. I thought this would be a simple exchange of replacing the parfait with an apology. That isn’t what I received. She said that’s the way it is supposed to taste. I explained to her something must be wrong with how they dispensed the peanuts. Perhaps it was from the bottom of the peanut bucket where salt settles. She refused this suggestion & told me perhaps there’s something wrong with it or maybe it was a recall item which I was confused since it’s DQ product being sold. Then very nastily said there was nothing she could do for me. This of course took place with her & 3 teenagers behind her watching this. I was flabbergasted at what was taking place. I in no way raised my voice or said anything abusive but she treated me as though I had. I insisted then she refund my money. She then walked away slamming the window. She finally came back & handed me $5 & told me to never to come back. And this one bad customer service experience ended a 4 year customer. This is a good little stop to get a quick lunch in this area, I have been to many DQ's close to where I live normally and they are nothing. Walked in, greeted instantly. The while store looked well swept and taken care of besides a spot under the sign on counter, but that's hard to get with a broom anyway.
For the food I was impressed. This might be the best looking burger I have gotten from a commonplace fast food company ever, thick tomatoes and good lettuce good pickles. Fries were a bit underdone for my taste but I like well done fries anyway and forgot to ask. Tea was also very good, lots of locations that brew tea have it way to sweet or its browned water, this was perfect.
Staff were super friendly as well, you could kinda tell from the way they talked they liked each other and made a good team, really refreshing to see that as well!
