Flap-jacks restaurant in Indianapolis, Indiana is a hidden gem that offers delicious breakfast options and great service. My recent visit to Flap-jacks left me thoroughly impressed with the quality of food and the friendly staff.
I ordered the two eggs your way, scrambled with cheddar cheese, along with turkey bacon, grits, hash browns fried hard, and strawberry pancakes. The eggs were perfectly cooked and the addition of cheddar cheese added a nice flavor. The turkey bacon was a bit undercooked for my liking, but still tasty. The grits were creamy and flavorful, better when sugar was added, while the hash browns were crispy and satisfying. The strawberry pancakes were a delightful sweet treat that I thoroughly enjoyed. The house scrambler with original pancakes, which was equally delicious.
To drink, water, Coke, and orange juice was had. The drinks were all served cold and refreshing, perfect for washing down the hearty breakfast.
The staff at Flap-jacks were extremely friendly and attentive. Our waiter, McKenzie, was a delight and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The service was prompt and efficient, despite the decent-sized crowd on a Sunday afternoon. We didn't have to wait long for our food or to be seated, was seated as soon as we got there which was a pleasant surprise.
Overall, my experience at Flap-jacks was excellent. The food was tasty, the staff was friendly, and the service was top-notch. While I would have liked my turkey bacon to be a bit crispier, it was a minor issue in an otherwise enjoyable dining experience. I would highly recommend Flap-jacks to anyone looking for a delicious breakfast spot in Indianapolis. I will definitely be returning to try more of their menu offerings...
Read moreWe use to eat here weekly. One day we went for lunch and we watched a lady with a dog at the table. The dog was sitting in the booth and we watched her take food from her mouth to feed the dog and the dog sniff the contents of her bowl. My wife contacted the mgr and was told that it was an emotional support dog and really didn't want to discuss it. We were grossed out by dog eating at the table while we dined Since the mgr did want to discuss it maybe she'll read the docs below from the ADA. A dog in a restaurant laying the floor at ones feet is one thing, sitting at the table is another thing.
the ADA nor Indiana’s service animal law includes pets or what some people call “emotional support animals”: animals that provide a sense of safety, companionship, and comfort to those with psychiatric or emotional disabilities or conditions. Although these animals often have therapeutic benefits, they are not individually trained to perform specific tasks for their handlers. Under the ADA and Indiana law, owners of public accommodations are not required to allow emotional support animals, only service animals.
Are restaurants, bars, and other places that serve food or drink required to allow service animals to be seated on chairs or allow the animal to be fed at the table? A: No. Seating, food, and drink are provided for customer use only. The ADA gives a person with a disability the right to be accompanied by his or her service animal, but covered entities are not required to allow an animal to sit or be fed...
Read moreIm not quite sure why the low ratings but as a tourist from london, me and my partner going on a road trip, we was looking for somewhere that has pan cakes for breakfast and flap jacks came up on google, we thought we would give it a go and found the staff was friendly, very welcoming with big smiles on thier faces. As we got sat down and going through the menu some of the food we wasn't sure of the staff was very nice to help describe as much as they can. My partner had 4 large pancakes which he couldn't finished and I had the omelette that had either potatoes or grits and pancakes the waitress ( Ash p.s when your ever in London look me up ) offered me to try abit of grit and in the end I had pancakes with fruits again I couldn't finish it. Coffee was endless plus you get these different type of little milks ( hazelnut, vanilla and half creme ) which you don't get this in England, service was great, portion was great, easy to get too with free parking which is always handy, and not to mention the price was AMAZING ( €18 = £11.33 ) now you can't get that in London for what we ordered. It was a shame we couldn't stay for dinner as we had to get to the next town. But anyone who going pass the town or going near or even staying in indianapolis down town you must stop by there and try out thier large portion tasty breakfast. Pictures...
