Colonial Tavern — Restaurant in Indianapolis

I like doing Karaoke here ... It is fun and I have not been here in about 4 yrs ... But it can be fun and the last time I did karaoke there with my now "EX boyfriend" ppl in that bar bought us drinks/shots all nite ... and everyone in the bar thought I had a tour bus outside and they tght my bf was my manager ... LBVS ... we danced all nite in between the karaoke singing breaks the DJ/Karaoke host would play music ...I loved it!!

Listen ... to be completely honest the place is teetering on the edge of being considered a 'hole in the wall' or maybe a "bit of a dump" ... and yes the bar could use a major" bar rescue" makeover.

I think ppl come to this bar for the karaoke and the fun and the mostly friendly ppl that come into the establishment to have fun ...

The bar is DEFINTELY NOT what I would consider a five star bar and I am sure there are no michelin award winning chefs in the kitchen ... but the food is edible and I have never got sick from bad food!!

So if you wanna have a bit of fun and the atmosphere can be laid back and not so stuffy and you do not have to be dressed to the "T" to come on inside ... It can be a fairly fun place ...

I do recommend going with others who like to have fun who are mostly friendly and upbeat and are fairly outgoing ... that personality type seems to be the most successful with the crowd of ppl who frequent the bar ...

Not a place I would personally recommend for uber conservative, non drinking and germaphobic, mostly uptight, prissy christianites...Just sayin ...

Come to have fun and try to indulge in the karaoke if you are going to hang out...

Awful. Awful. Awful. Never got waited on by staff and ended up having to go to the bar for my own drinks. Sent my boyfriend to the bar with my card, received my drink and not my card, went up to my boyfriend (Who was still at the bar) asking where my card was for the bartender to rudely yell I needed to pay for my drinks and he needed to run the card still. Understandable situation, completely unnecessary and unprofessional way of handling it. This was literally my only drink of the night as I was never waited on and they refuse cards for purchases less than $10 (So you can't buy yourself a drink with a card unless you open a tab). I ended up leaving and coming back with food since the waitresses were too busy shooting up in the bathroom and then was asked to either throw away my food or leave. I had wanted to order food there but seeing as there isn't any form of supervision or desire to do their jobs from the staff, I was forced to get my own food (I was here for a party so yes I needed to come back but I literally hadn't eaten all day and wasn't going to wait on the staff who clearly couldn't care less about any of the customers). As someone who works in the food industry, I wouldn't recommend this place, even to my worst enemy. It's extremely dirty, staff CLEARLY don't care, staff are also extremely unfriendly, and the drinks aren't strong enough to make it worth it. There's hundreds of bars around the Indy area, I hope, for your own sake, you never end up...

Not really sure how this place gets any stars, I was in this evening (friday) they were only moderately busy. The wait staff and security are absolutely horrible, waited forever standing in line at bar to get 2 beers, and was just stared at by multiple employees working behind the bar. Just to be told that I had to wait on another bartender because she is the one that I gave my card to. I worked many years in the bar industry, and if there are 2 people behind the bar they usually split tips, not refuse to help customers. When it was time to cash out, the bartenders just kept, ignoring me. To top it off the short round security guy that was very rude, was too busy not paying attention while 2 college kids were fighting at the bar, that customers had to break up, and neither person fighting was asked to leave, the guy that started it and was yelling how drunk he was was allowed to stay. I had high hopes for this place after them being remodeled and supposedly under new management, but it seems the management now is worse than it was before and the wait staff is terrible aswell. I'd be surprised if they are even still open a...
